WDYT of these names?

I’ve been working on narrowing down my boys’ list lately–it’s gotten a little out-of-hand!–and I’ve gotten a good handle on a lot of the names now, I think, but there’s a couple I can’t decide if I want to keep or toss, and I could use a second opinion on them! WDYT of these names?

[name_m]Alban[/name_m]
[name_m]Amias[/name_m]
[name_u]Bailey[/name_u]
[name_m]Drury[/name_m] (a family name I’ve always really liked–plus, it has such a lovely meaning!)
[name_m]Reuben[/name_m]
[name_u]Walker[/name_u]

The rest of my list is [name_u]Everett[/name_u], [name_m]Casper[/name_m], [name_m]Grant[/name_m], [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m], [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], [name_m]Boaz[/name_m], [name_u]Avery[/name_u], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Judah[/name_m], [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], [name_m]Zane[/name_m], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m], [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_m]Reef[/name_m], [name_m]Grayson[/name_m], [name_m]Torin[/name_m], [name_m]Eoghan[/name_m], [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m], and [name_u]Auden[/name_u], if that helps any (they’re an eclectic bunch, but they fit together in my mind somehow, haha!)–my current signature is a themed signature experiment, and thus doesn’t really reflect my personal style, so I figured that knowledge might be helpful when comparing these six to it.

Thanks, berries!

I really like [name_m]Amias[/name_m] and [name_u]Walker[/name_u]. [name_u]Bailey[/name_u] I find bland and [name_m]Alban[/name_m] also lacks any sort of oomph in my opinion. [name_m]Reuben[/name_m] is the only name that I have an association with so horrible I can’t be objective in any way towards the name, my apologies. [name_m]Drury[/name_m] I like the sentiment of, that it’s a family name and has such a precious definition. However, I find it awkward to say. And with 2 Rs so close he probably wouldn’t be able to pronounce it until he is 8 or so. Kids really struggle with Rs. Though him calling himself dwuwy might be adorable haha.

[name_m]Alban[/name_m] - one that I’ve only discovered recently and it’s growing on me - it has a nice sort of classic feel like [name_m]Albert[/name_m] or [name_m]Alfred[/name_m] while also feeling modern like [name_u]Corbin[/name_u] or [name_u]Tobin[/name_u]
[name_m]Amias[/name_m] - is this Am-ee-us or Am-my-us or something else? I like both of those and I so really like the look of the name - I’m just not familiar with the pn. It looks like such an adventurous and cool name though
[name_u]Bailey[/name_u] - I like the softness of the name but it also reminds me of alcohol and the word baleful.
[name_m]Drury[/name_m] - the meaning is so sweet and I like that it has meaning to you, but I think it’s one to save for a middle maybe. Like pp, I find it a little hard to say and it also reminds me of The Muffin [name_m]Man[/name_m] song (is that a thing where you are? Is that still a thing anyone else remembers? Might not be relevant at all). That all said, I do quite like [name_m]Drury[/name_m] and I wouldn’t throw it out
[name_m]Reuben[/name_m] - I love, love [name_m]Reuben[/name_m] and if my cousin wasn’t [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], I’d consider it. It’s such a sweet, upbeat sounding name!
[name_u]Walker[/name_u] - I feel a bit eh about it, tbh. I don’t hate it, but it doesn’t excite me, if that makes sense

[name_m]Alban[/name_m] - The first thing that comes to mind is the country Albania and so I find it a little hard to see as a name! Someone who doesn’t live in this part of Europe wouldn’t have this problem though. I looove nickname [name_m]Alby[/name_m]!
[name_m]Amias[/name_m] - I prefer [name_m]Amos[/name_m] but [name_m]Amias[/name_m] is great too! It has a really sweet and soft sound while being clearly masculine. Plus, [name_f]Amy[/name_f] is my girlfriend’s name and it sounds close to [name_m]Amias[/name_m] so I have a soft spot for it.
[name_u]Bailey[/name_u] - It’s cute but I see it more as a girls’ name and I find it hard to imagine on a male adult. Could be nice as a nickname though!
[name_m]Drury[/name_m]- My brother couldn’t clearly say “r” till he turned seven so I personally would avoid names where there are r’s close together. That said I like that it means something to you and it’d make a sweet middle name.
[name_m]Reuben[/name_m] - My favorite! I love this name, it’s strong and classic but not overused and nn [name_u]Rue[/name_u] is handsome.
[name_u]Walker[/name_u] - This was the surname of my favorite book character from when I was a kid, so it’s a bit weird to think of it as a first name. I just think “someone who walks” or “someone’s last name” not “this is a name”. Sorry if that makes no sense!

[name_m]Alban[/name_m] - I love [name_m]Alban[/name_m]! He is one of my very favourite boys’ names. He has such a smiley, playful, rough-and-tumble feel, while also having a serious and stately side to him thanks to St [name_m]Alban[/name_m]. I also love the intriguing etymology of the name.

[name_m]Amias[/name_m] - I tend to love names that mean “love” and [name_m]Amias[/name_m] is a delightful one: I love how soft and cuddly he is. Like [name_m]Alban[/name_m], it’s a very strong and wearable name.

[name_u]Bailey[/name_u] - I don’t like [name_u]Bailey[/name_u] quite as much as [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] or [name_f]Hayley[/name_f] (or [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] of course!) for either gender, but he does have a really nice comfy-ruggedness to him, if that’s not an oxymoron; slightly cowboyish.

[name_m]Drury[/name_m] - I personally find it difficult to get my head around [name_m]Drury[/name_m], but there’s definitely a lot to love here - it’s a family name for you, and the meaning is so sweet!

[name_m]Reuben[/name_m] - Not my favourite Biblical name or character, but the name fits nicely stylistically with the other names on your list. I also love the nn Reuby / [name_u]Ruby[/name_u].

[name_u]Walker[/name_u] - I must admit that [name_u]Walker[/name_u] strikes me as a strange choice - the meaning is so literal and not immediately inspiring. I do love names that link to travelling through life, though, so I suppose you could look at it like that?

I like [name_u]Walker[/name_u], [name_m]Alban[/name_m], and [name_m]Amias[/name_m]. Not a fan of [name_u]Bailey[/name_u] - it seems overused [name_f]IMO[/name_f] (for girls, but still). [name_m]Reuben[/name_m] is okay, just sort of mediocre in comparison to the other names on your list. [name_m]Drury[/name_m] isn’t my favorite name, but if the significance really matters to you it should stay on your list.

Thanks, everyone! For various reasons, I think [name_m]Alban[/name_m], [name_m]Amias[/name_m], and [name_u]Bailey[/name_u] are probably out, and [name_m]Reuben[/name_m], too, as lovely as they are.

I can see that [name_m]Drury[/name_m] and [name_u]Walker[/name_u] might not be everyone’s cup of tea, and they are rather surnamey, but there’s aspects of both that I really adore! I thought about using them as middles, but I haven’t found the right spot for them as either a first OR a middle, so for now they’re sort of… in tandem.

@kew - I don’t know, meanings aren’t everything to me? So unless it’s something I find categorically something I morally stand against, I don’t think a meaning would deter me. Sure, [name_u]Walker[/name_u]'s meaning isn’t great, but I love the imagery I have with him (somewhere between a jazzy old soul with lots of heart and a country-boy charmer with a heart of gold?), and I’ve always had a spot in my heart for him, I think, although it’s grown by leaps and bounds lately. Probably about 5-10 years ago, [name_u]Noah[/name_u] [name_u]Walker[/name_u] was on my list, but I’m finding now that I’m coming back round to [name_u]Walker[/name_u], and I rather love the idea of him as a first name this time…

[name_m]Just[/name_m] my personal opinion, hope it helped.

[name_m]Amias[/name_m] - i prefer [name_f]Anais[/name_f] but it’s still cute
[name_m]Drury[/name_m] - [name_u]Unique[/name_u], never heard of it
[name_m]Reuben[/name_m] - I love this name but spelled the traditional way, which is [name_m]Ruben[/name_m]

Also liked [name_u]Everett[/name_u], [name_m]Grant[/name_m], [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m], [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], [name_u]Avery[/name_u], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Judah[/name_m], [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m], [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_m]Grayson[/name_m], [name_m]Torin[/name_m], [name_m]Eoghan[/name_m], and [name_u]Auden[/name_u].

I didn’t like these: [name_m]Alban[/name_m], [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m], [name_m]Zane[/name_m], [name_u]Walker[/name_u], [name_m]Casper[/name_m], [name_m]Reef[/name_m], or [name_m]Boaz[/name_m]
I like [name_u]Bailey[/name_u] but there’s tons of people named [name_u]Bailey[/name_u].

[name_m]Thomas[/name_m] is cute but [name_u]Theo[/name_u] is precious.
