WDYT of these possible names?

Dear Nameberries,

I’m pregnant! If all goes well, we’ll have a baby by mid-[name]April[/name] 2013. I’m really excited and really nervous!

We don’t want to discuss names with family – I told my mom about the possibility of [name]Edith[/name] and she was like “oh, awful! That was the name of my ex-Mother in law!” Her ex-[name]MIL[/name] from 35 years ago. Also, my lovely [name]MIL[/name] can’t stand [name]Hazel[/name] (my absolute favorite name) and the fact that we told her is the reason why my partner wanted to find something else possibly.

I still would like to hear what nameberries think of these names and possible future siblings. It’s important to my partner to honor a passed loved one and he definitely wants [name]Estelle[/name] as a middle name if it’s a girl. I’ve posted about [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Estelle[/name] several months ago and someone had the idea of [name]Edith[/name].

Last name is similar to Cushner.

Boys:
[name]Solomon[/name] [name]Hugo[/name]
[name]Miles[/name] [name]Theodore[/name] ([name]Theodore[/name] can honor [name]Dorothy[/name], right?)

Girls:
[name]Edith[/name] [name]Estelle[/name]
[name]Hazel[/name] [name]Estelle[/name]

Thank you nameberries for your invaluable advice!

I like [name]Miles[/name] [name]Theodore[/name] ( yes! I think that [name]Theodore[/name] and [name]Dorothy[/name] have the same meaning… So a cool way to honor someone)
As for the girl names, they are definitely of the same style. I think I like [name]Edith[/name] [name]Estelle[/name] better than [name]Hazel[/name], just because [name]Hazel[/name] and [name]Estelle[/name] both end in an L sound. Other names that would be cute as siblings: [name]Louisa[/name], [name]Lois[/name], [name]Pearl[/name], [name]Fern[/name], [name]Ina[/name], [name]Arthur[/name], [name]George[/name], [name]Carl[/name], [name]Rogers[/name], [name]Calvin[/name], [name]Franklin[/name].

I adore your boy’s name options - both [name]Solomon[/name] [name]Hugo[/name] and [name]Miles[/name] [name]Theodore[/name] are fabulous!

[name]Hazel[/name] [name]Estelle[/name] seems very ‘[name]El[/name]’ heavy.

[name]Edith[/name] [name]Estelle[/name] is my favourite regardless of the alliteration.

I prefer [name]Solomon[/name] [name]Hugo[/name]; [name]Miles[/name] sounds very whiny to me.

I love [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Estelle[/name], but it is very -el heavy, like pp said. Perhaps [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Estella[/name]?

Thanks nameberries! It’s good to hear people’s honest impressions of these names.

I would go with [name]Miles[/name] [name]Theodore[/name] or [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Estelle[/name]. If your mother-in-law doesn’t like it, oh well! It’s your baby, not hers  Plus, I’m sure once she meets the baby she’ll love it no matter what its name is!

I really like [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Estelle[/name]- very pretty. I see the -el concerns but I still think it sounds nice with your surname. I think [name]Edith[/name] is a little too old-fashioned for today, though. And I think [name]Theodore[/name] can definitely honour [name]Dorothy[/name].
