[name]Just[/name] hypothetically…!
[name]Alys[/name] [name]Margarita[/name] [name]Rose[/name] / Alice Margarita Rose**
&
[name]Aria[/name] [name]Rosalie[/name] [name]Snow[/name]
[name]Margarita[/name] is the spanish name of both of our grandmothers (OHs maternal, my paternal)
** I’ve added the Alice up there. Explained in the thread below.
[name]Alys[/name] [name]Margarita[/name] [name]Rose[/name]- [name]Alys[/name] will forever be saying “A-L-Y-S, not A-L-I-C-E.” [name]Just[/name] saying, that will get annoying after a while.
[name]Aria[/name] [name]Rosalie[/name] [name]Snow[/name]- Beautiful, but [name]Rosalie[/name] and [name]Rose[/name]? I think maybe it would be better as…
[name]Aria[/name] [name]Coralie[/name] [name]Snow[/name]
[name]Aria[/name] [name]Amelie[/name] [name]Snow[/name]
[name]Aria[/name] [name]Emily[/name] [name]Snow[/name]
[name]Aria[/name] [name]Lorelei[/name] [name]Snow[/name]
[name]Aria[/name] [name]Natalie[/name] [name]Snow[/name]
[name]Just[/name] a thought. Anyway, beautiful names!
The Rosalie/Rose thing: It’s a compromise. We had talked about Grace, but neither of us really like Grace that much. I really wanted Snow in one of them, but as my OH thinks thats a bit out there with the fairies he demanded he could decide the third on for the other and that is Rose.
I don’t understand the A-L-Y-S tho? Where I live Y is often pronounced as I.
I don’t really like both initials starting with the same letter, but we’ll look past that for a moment.
[name]Alys[/name] [name]Margarita[/name] [name]Rose[/name]
[name]Alys[/name] is a no in my book. I really like [name]Alice[/name], actually, but [name]Alys[/name] is a terrible alternate spelling. There’s nothing wrong with the spelling [name]Alice[/name] and my computer is giving me a red squiggly line to note that [name]Alys[/name] is spelled wrong. Which it is. If it were [name]Alice[/name] [name]Margarita[/name] [name]Rose[/name], I would say nicely done & good job.
[name]Aria[/name] [name]Rosalie[/name] [name]Snow[/name]
I’m not a huge fan of [name]Aria[/name]. It seems incomplete to me. But other than the general dislike for the name, I think this one is fine.
Overall, I’d give you a C+. Maybe a B- if I were in a good mood.
[name]Alys[/name] [name]Margarita[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is a lovely choice. I really like all of those names together. My mom’s name is [name]Alice[/name] and her mom’s name is [name]Rose[/name]! Anyhow, I think the [name]Alice[/name] spelling would be much easier, but if you don’t mind correcting people then go for it. I thought it was maybe an alternate spelling of [name]Elise[/name] at first glance. My name is [name]Alyssa[/name] so I automatically read uh-lis.
[name]Aria[/name] [name]Rosalie[/name] [name]Snow[/name] - I really love [name]Aria[/name] and [name]Rosalie[/name] together. [name]Snow[/name] isn’t my style, but it is cute in this combo. The only thing I don’t like is the repetitive sound of “oh” in [name]Rosalie[/name] and [name]Snow[/name], but really that isn’t a huge deal at all and just something I noticed right away. I have some repeating sounds in one of my name combos, and sometimes it bugs me, but the names have significance to me so I use them anyhow.
I actually like the [name]Rose[/name] and [name]Rosalie[/name] connection for twins.
Well - there is a reason for the [name]Alys[/name] spelling. [name]Alice[/name] is my preferred spelling, no doubt about it. But to avoid a major drama blow out in my family we’ve had to spell it differently. If we can pursuade the other involved person that both of us can use [name]Alice[/name], than that’s what the name will be.
We’ve always wanted [name]Alice[/name] for a little girl. Since getting together 8 years ago we agreed that this was the name for a daughter if we had one. We did, but she passed away and we thought we’d find a more suitable name for our little angel, whom we named [name]Lily[/name] (as it means innocence, we felt that fitted her better). We’ve had [name]Alice[/name] as the female choice for both of our sons (now 2 and 4). But when expressing this a year ago my 14 year old sister got deeply offended as, apparently, that’s ‘her’ name. Our other sister has then also taken offence as she thinks I’ve stolen the idea of our younger sister, which I obviously haven’t as that has been our female name of choice for the past 8 years!
If we can ‘get away’ with using [name]Alice[/name], we will.
Thank you for your comment on [name]Alys[/name] though - it makes me feel more certain that [name]Alice[/name] really is the best way forward.
