WDYT of these?

Hi berries!

I feel like lately I’ve had a huge influx of crushes lately, and I would love some thoughts on these names as I try to work through which of them should make the cut for my official list and which are maybe lovely names but not for me - I do think my style has been changing a bit lately, so if they’re not a perfect fit to what feels like “me” to you, I’m not as concerned about that right now. Without further ado, I’d love to hear your thoughts on these names! Thanks, berries!

[name_f]Alba[/name_f] [name_f]Coralie[/name_f] - I find this bit color heavy, but also think of sea and waves
[name_f]Clio[/name_f] [name_f]Ginevra[/name_f] - don’t really like Cli-Gi repetition and I got reminded of lady parts for some reason
[name_f]Elara[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] - very spacey I instantly thought of space ship. Nice flow, but find it bit long
[name_f]Ella[/name_f] [name_f]Capulet[/name_f] - I really like flow, theater imagery, names and combo. I though of country singers named [name_f]Ella[/name_f]
[name_f]Esme[/name_f] [name_f]Philomena[/name_f] - I like this one, I like the flow and combo and names are lovely
[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] [name_f]Malti[/name_f] - I think this name feels overly dated and heavy
[name_f]Hero[/name_f] [name_f]Cosima[/name_f] - nice, but bit O heavy and bit dramatic
[name_f]Kaia[/name_f] [name_f]Orchid[/name_f] - I really like this
[name_f]Leonora[/name_f] [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] - I really like this
[name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Cyrene[/name_f] - I really like the flow and imagery, but she’ll be [name_f]Lila[/name_f] day to day and I don’t like [name_f]Lila[/name_f]. I do like [name_f]Cyrene[/name_f] and [name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Cyrene[/name_f], so it’s up to you
[name_f]Odette[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] - I think both names are fighting for your attention. I would use different middle, but do like both [name_f]Odette[/name_f] and [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]
[name_f]Philomena[/name_f] [name_f]Clover[/name_f] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] - lovely, love it. [name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Clover[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] [name_f]Alba[/name_f] - love it. [name_f]Romy[/name_f] is fine nickname
[name_f]Tatiana[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] - It’s fine, but both names are fighting for attention, it’s bit dramatic and I don’t like [name_f]Tatiana[/name_f]
[name_f]Vesper[/name_f] [name_f]Iolanthe[/name_f] - I like imagery, I like both names I just think they are too much together
[name_f]Viola[/name_f] [name_f]Eden[/name_f] [name_f]Jessamy[/name_f] - love it, lovely combo
[name_f]Xanthe[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Wren[/name_f] - love it
[name_f]Zelie[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] - I don’t like the flow of this, what about [name_f]Zelia[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]?

My favorites from your list are [name_f]Esme[/name_f] [name_f]Philomena[/name_f] and [name_f]Zélie[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]!

[name_f]Alba[/name_f] [name_f]Coralie[/name_f] - I’m neutral on [name_f]Alba[/name_f], but to me [name_f]Coralie[/name_f] sounds like “coral-y”, like as if you were describing a color.

[name_f]Clio[/name_f] [name_f]Ginevra[/name_f] - If it was spelled [name_f]Cleo[/name_f], I might like it a bit more! I think Clio/Cleo is such a “cool girl” name.

[name_f]Elara[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] - I’ve been really loving [name_f]Elara[/name_f] recently, and I do really like this combo from your list! [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] just isn’t one of my favorite names. [name_f]Elara[/name_f] feels a bit darker and mysterious to me, so [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] seems a bit jarringly different.

[name_f]Ella[/name_f] [name_f]Capulet[/name_f] - I like this! Really sweet and literary.

[name_f]Esme[/name_f] [name_f]Philomena[/name_f] - [name_f]Esme[/name_f] is one of my all-time favorite names, and I just love how elegant she sounds with [name_f]Philomena[/name_f]!

[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] [name_f]Malti[/name_f] - I really like [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f], not so much [name_f]Malti[/name_f].

[name_f]Hero[/name_f] [name_f]Cosima[/name_f] - Another combo I really like! I love [name_f]Cosima[/name_f].

[name_f]Kaia[/name_f] [name_f]Orchid[/name_f] - I don’t really like the way [name_f]Orchid[/name_f] sounds. [name_f]Kaia[/name_f] is okay.

[name_f]Leonora[/name_f] [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] - Again, not a fan of how [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] sounds, I think it’s the way it ends on a hard consonant that sounds abrupt to me (same for Orchid).

[name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Cyrene[/name_f] - I love the name [name_f]Lila[/name_f]! I actually thought [name_f]Cyrene[/name_f] was pronounced like [name_f]Irene[/name_f] with a soft C in front of it, and I actually prefer that (incorrect) pronunciation to what NB has listed as sy-ree-nee.

[name_f]Odette[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] - Don’t love the flow.

[name_f]Philomena[/name_f] [name_f]Clover[/name_f] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] nn [name_f]Philou[/name_f] - I think I like [name_f]Philomena[/name_f] in the middle name spot better, I dislike [name_f]Clover[/name_f] (sounds like a name for a pet bunny to me :grimacing:), but love [name_f]Isobel[/name_f]. [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] [name_f]Philomena[/name_f] would be stunning IMO. [name_f]Philou[/name_f] is cute!

[name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] [name_f]Alba[/name_f] nn [name_f]Romy[/name_f] - I absolutely adore [name_f]Romy[/name_f], but unfortunately am not a fan of [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f]! But there’s nothing objectively wrong with this name!

[name_f]Tatiana[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] - [name_m]Not[/name_m] my style

[name_f]Vesper[/name_f] [name_f]Iolanthe[/name_f] - [name_m]Not[/name_m] my style

[name_f]Viola[/name_f] [name_f]Eden[/name_f] [name_f]Jessamy[/name_f] - [name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Eden[/name_f], not so big on [name_f]Viola[/name_f] or [name_f]Jessamy[/name_f]. [name_f]Eden[/name_f] [name_f]Viola[/name_f] [name_f]Jessamy[/name_f] would be my pick of a combo with these three names.

[name_f]Xanthe[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Wren[/name_f] - [name_f]Xanthe[/name_f] is uniquely pretty, though not really my style. I like the flow of this combo.

[name_f]Zélie[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] - I love this combo and chic and spunky she sounds!

[name_f]Alba[/name_f] [name_f]Coralie[/name_f] - I like this combo a lot. It’s super lush and feminine but wearable. I’m really digging the sea imagery as well.

[name_f]Clio[/name_f] [name_f]Ginevra[/name_f] - A solid choice. People might spell [name_f]Clio[/name_f] as [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] sometimes, but I like the visual balance of [name_f]Clio[/name_f] [name_f]Ginevra[/name_f]. [name_m]The[/name_m] combo also flows beautifully.

[name_f]Elara[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] - [name_f]Pretty[/name_f]! This name feels very sunsoaked and bright.

[name_f]Ella[/name_f] [name_f]Capulet[/name_f] - [name_f]Capulet[/name_f] isn’t my favourite name sound wise, I feel like it sounds a little medical. However, I do like the contrast between classic, feminine [name_f]Ella[/name_f] and the more androgynous, unusual, literary energy of [name_f]Capulet[/name_f]. I think this combo could grow on me.

[name_f]Esme[/name_f] [name_f]Philomena[/name_f] - Very operatic. I love a short, sweet first with a powerful, dramatic middle and this name has a phenomenal sound and flow. I also like the meanings - beloved and strong. A really great combo.

[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] [name_f]Malti[/name_f] - Has a great flow. I do like this combo, but I’m more excited about some of the others.

[name_f]Hero[/name_f] [name_f]Cosima[/name_f] - I like [name_f]Hero[/name_f] on a girl and it looks very cool in writing. Sound wise, I think it has a good flow; other combos on this list are flowier imo. Overall, though, I like this one. It’s got a great literary vibe and is bold and beautiful.

[name_f]Kaia[/name_f] [name_f]Orchid[/name_f] - I like this. [name_f]Kaia[/name_f] is a lovely, versatile name and I like how [name_f]Orchid[/name_f] in the middle is a really bold, unexpected choice. It makes me think of a snow flower, of delicate beauty.

[name_f]Leonora[/name_f] [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] - [name_f]Leonora[/name_f] is a very underrated name imo. [name_m]The[/name_m] alliteration is fun and not overpowering. I like.

[name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Cyrene[/name_f] - [name_f]Pretty[/name_f], but something about this combo isn’t as striking for me personally. It feels a little disjointed for some reason. I like [name_f]Lila[/name_f] and [name_f]Cyrene[/name_f] individually, but I don’t love them as much together.

[name_f]Odette[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] - Absolute swoon! I love [name_f]Odette[/name_f] and [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] is a rising star in my opinion. This combo feels like a summer sunset, like a flower falling in elegant circles from a tree branch, effortlessly beautiful and feminine. But Odette’s sharp sound keeps it from feeling flimsy - there’s definitely steel there as well as sweetness.

[name_f]Philomena[/name_f] [name_f]Clover[/name_f] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] nn [name_f]Philou[/name_f] - [name_f]Love[/name_f]. [name_m]The[/name_m] flow is immaculate, I like the balance of quirky and classic, especially using [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] as a middle. And [name_f]Philou[/name_f] is adorable.

[name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] [name_f]Alba[/name_f] nn [name_f]Romy[/name_f] - Another love! [name_f]Romy[/name_f] for [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] is so cute, and [name_f]Alba[/name_f] feels warm and understated next to the dramatic, dazzling [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f].

[name_f]Tatiana[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] - Grain of salt, here, because I used to like [name_f]Tatiana[/name_f] until I met a really horrible person with that name, but I’m not a huge fan of this combo. I like the sound, but it looks a bit heavy to me. I just like other entries on the list more.

[name_f]Vesper[/name_f] [name_f]Iolanthe[/name_f] - I’m not a big [name_f]Vesper[/name_f] person, and both names are so unusual I feel like this combo feels more suited to a fantasy queen than a real person. I am in awe of your ability to pick flowy names - even the ones I don’t like as much sound lovely when I say them out loud.

[name_f]Viola[/name_f] [name_f]Eden[/name_f] [name_f]Jessamy[/name_f] - I like this a lot. [name_f]Viola[/name_f] is super underrated in my opinion, as is [name_f]Jessamy[/name_f]. I’d have liked [name_f]Viola[/name_f] [name_f]Jessamy[/name_f] as well, but [name_f]Viola[/name_f] [name_f]Eden[/name_f] [name_f]Jessamy[/name_f] is bouncy and fun, sharp and gentle at the same time.

[name_f]Xanthe[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Wren[/name_f] - I’m not even a big [name_f]Xanthe[/name_f] fan, but this combo works so well. I like the combination of unusual and down to earth in this combo, where [name_f]Xanthe[/name_f] feels grounded by [name_f]Wren[/name_f] and [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f], while [name_f]Wren[/name_f] and [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] feel more energised. A great balanced combo.

[name_f]Zélie[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] - I love. Romantic and cute. I picture a zippy little girl riding a train through [name_m]Paris[/name_m] or a young woman dancing around a library. [name_m]The[/name_m] impression is sweet but also clever.

Thank you, everyone!

@Greyblue - I do like them together, but this is also valid… admittedly [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] is one of the ones that I’m feeling less inclined toward the more I sit on it. I probably like too many of these for my own good, and should just cut my losses with [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f], but I’ve been loving [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] names more and more lately - maybe I should pivot toward [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f].

@Sorceress thank you! Good point on [name_f]Vesper[/name_f] [name_f]Iolanthe[/name_f] - I originally had [name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Vesper[/name_f] [name_f]Iolanthe[/name_f] but [name_f]Vesper[/name_f] [name_f]Iolanthe[/name_f] was my favorite part, so I moved onto other options for [name_f]Lila[/name_f]. Maybe [name_f]Lila[/name_f] helps the [name_f]Vesper[/name_f] [name_f]Iolanthe[/name_f] bit not feel too overwhelming?

@fromtheocean12 thank you! and interesting, I have been saying [name_f]Cyrene[/name_f] like [name_f]Irene[/name_f] - although sy-ree-nee is nice too. Most Christians I know say sy-reen (Simon of [name_f]Cyrene[/name_f] was a character in the Bible, though I’ve since learned that his hometown was named after [name_f]Cyrene[/name_f], so it was probably said like sy-ree-nee back then. And ahh, fair enough about [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f]! Honestly I’ve liked her for quite a while but the pairing with [name_f]Alba[/name_f] is what makes me love her… she basically feels like a way to get to [name_f]Romy[/name_f] and not much more. I do like the flexibility of [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f], but if I liked [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] paired with [name_f]Alba[/name_f] as much as I do [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f], I probably would have switched her out for [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] or [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] by now. Somehow [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Alba[/name_f] doesn’t have the same presence for me?

:face_holding_back_tears: awww, what a sweet thing to say, thank you! That means a lot. And you’re probably right about [name_f]Vesper[/name_f] [name_f]Iolanthe[/name_f] - I do like her a lot but there are other names I’ve been considering that feel more realistic (Rosamund, [name_f]Xanthe[/name_f], [name_f]Hero[/name_f], [name_f]Elara[/name_f], [name_f]Clio[/name_f], [name_f]Zelie[/name_f], Esme).

I also love your description of [name_f]Elara[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] and [name_f]Zelie[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] - she feels the same to me as well!
