In the context of my daughter’s names and the other potential combos on my lists (which can all be found in my uc), what do you think of the combo [name_u]Firefly[/name_u] [name_f]Oona[/name_f] [name_f]Sylvestra[/name_f]?
It fits in very well both vibe-wise and style-wise. It does stand out a little though because [name_u]Firefly[/name_u] is quite wordy for a first name.
i feel like Firefly is a bit out of place as a first name (although it could definitely still work). i think Sylvestra Firefly Oona or Oona Sylvestra Firefly would work a little better !
I do think it’s absolutely beautiful but I must admit [name_u]Firefly[/name_u] doesn’t quite feel like it fits with your other names which feel much more namey
@Wandarine - I’m glad you think it fits the overall vibe and style! That’s what I was worried about with Firefly.
@etoilelumineuse - I love that you love it!
@venezio - That’s what I was worried about with Firefly. I just really like the flow so much better this way than the other, more practical options.
@snowmaiden - I do think it’s a more unique word name, even more so than Reverie. But I’m glad the vibe matches!
@Greyblue - I do think it’s more wordy than most of my other first name options.
I forgot to mention that this I am considering this combo for Sylvestra nn Sylvie (from this aesthetic). I’ve had a lot of trouble with this combo, namely because I can’t find anything I like with Sylvestra in the first name slot. I also really love the flow of Oona Sylvestra, and I prefer Firefly Oona Sylvestra over Oona Sylvestra Firefly, especially since our kiddo calls one of my partners her “Uma.”
This also wouldn’t be the only combo on the list where the first name wouldn’t be the use-name - Rowan Taliesin Iroh (Tal) and Soren Tiberius North (Ty) come to mind. Does knowing that she would go by Sylvie change anything?
Yeah, that feels a lot more wearable for everyday, with Firefly there as a possibility if that’s who she is and wants to be! As I say, I do love how the name sounds, but Sylvestra/Sylvie being there as an everyday name works well it feels cohesive with N1mue, and being able to reveal your first name is actually Firefly? Super cool
I’m so happy to hear you say this! I’m relieved that you think Sylvestra / Sylvie works with N1mue / N1m / N1mmy. I love the warmth and whimsy of Firefly, as well as it being a nerd reference for us on several levels, and I loved the little tie-in with F3rn, since they’re both word / nature names starting with F.
