We need to use a Y or a J (to honour family members) for our soon-to-be son. We are having a hard time coming up with names that we both like and agree on. So far the only name we can agree on is [name]Yale[/name]. What do you think of it? Older sisters name is [name]Sloane[/name].
Thanks!
[name]Yale[/name] makes a great brother for [name]Sloane[/name].
Other names you might like:
[name]Sloane[/name] & [name]Jett[/name]
[name]Sloane[/name] & [name]Jude[/name]
[name]Sloane[/name] & [name]Jack[/name]
[name]Sloane[/name] & [name]Jeremy[/name]
[name]Sloane[/name] & [name]Jax[/name]
[name]Sloane[/name] & [name]Julian[/name]
[name]Sloane[/name] & [name]Judd[/name]
[name]Sloane[/name] & [name]Joel[/name]
[name]Sloane[/name] & [name]York[/name]
[name]Sloane[/name] & [name]Yardley[/name]
[name]Sloane[/name] & Yates
I hear it’s a great university. Not sure about a name.
[name]Yale[/name] sounds good with [name]Sloane[/name], but I agree: it’s hard to escape the university meaning, or the locks.
[name]Judd[/name] and [name]Jude[/name] work as sibs for [name]Sloane[/name]. [name]Jake[/name] too maybe. [name]Jackson[/name]?
I think [name]Yale[/name] is a perfect name. I don’t think of the university, but that might be because I’m not from the US.
I only think of the university and therefore it sounds really pretentious to me or like you’re trying to hard. For me it’s like naming your kid [name]Armani[/name] or Ferrari - only it’s an ivy school instead of a luxury item. Sorry, I just don’t see the appeal at all, nor can I see it as a name.
[name]Yale[/name]'s a great school!
Not sure bout a great name though. [name]Sloane[/name] and [name]Yale[/name] sounds like a law firm.
I agree with this statement.
Reminds me of a joke that my neighbor told me when I was moving to [name]Georgia[/name].
Two college girls from the south were on spring break in new [name]England[/name] and at a party one evening. They started talking with a guy and asked him where he went to college. He said, “[name]Yale[/name].” So the girls, shouting, asked again, “WHERE [name]DO[/name] YOU GO T COLLEGE?”
just my first thought as someone who does live around people who have heavy southern accents
Thanks for all of your suggestions! We aren’t from the US so although people might think of the university, I think it’s a bit of a stretch.
Any other suggestions for a brother to [name]Sloane[/name]? We are totally stumped!
Other ideas:
[name]James[/name]
[name]Jasper[/name]
[name]Jacob[/name]
[name]Jared[/name]
[name]Jeffrey[/name]
I’d probably choose something like [name]Yarrow[/name] or [name]Julian[/name].
I’m not from the US either, but the university was the very first thing I thought of, I’m afraid. I think it sounds pretentious, to be honest. It’s like naming your child [name]Oxford[/name] or [name]Harvard[/name].
I like the suggestions above for [name]Jasper[/name] or [name]James[/name]. Are there other J or Y names that you like?
