The name [name]Patience[/name] for a little blonde girl? I’m really considering it, I have only met one other girl with the name and think it’s absolutely adorable. Also what would you suggest for a middle name? Thanks in advance!
I really, really like this one. It’s been growing on me recently. [name]One[/name] reservation I have would be if anyone tried to shorten it to [name]Pat[/name]. I think personally I’d use it as a middle name and not a first. The other issue you’ll run into is that it sounds like your telling your daughter to have patience rather than calling her name.
As for a middle name, I think a lot of names would work well with this. [name]Just[/name] nothing that starts with a ‘p’ or ends in the sound produced by ‘ce’ or ‘s’. Like, [name]Patience[/name] [name]Alice[/name] doesn’t really work. [name]Patience[/name] [name]Alessandra[/name] does, I think. So, it also depends on the style of mn you’d like. Some that I like:
[name]Patience[/name] [name]Alessandra[/name]
[name]Patience[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Patience[/name] [name]Calliope[/name]
[name]Patience[/name] [name]Everly[/name] or [name]Evelyn[/name]
Sorry, but this is not one of my favorite virtue names. I could see using it as the middle though. I like the above poster’s “[name]Everly[/name]” [name]Patience[/name], or “[name]Evelyn[/name]” [name]Patience[/name]. Good luck!
I don’t really like virtue names but I see the appeal of [name]Patience[/name]. [name]Patsy[/name] or [name]Pacey[/name] or some nickname feel pretty inevitable so consider how you feel about those.
Dislike. Most virtue names I don’t like; though [name]Grace[/name] and [name]Faith[/name] aren’t bad.
I like it, but I would be too afraid of jokes like “Have patience, patience.” That would be very, very tiring. I think any type of girl, no matter the hair color can pull the name off.
I like it. I don’t get telling her to have patience from the name. Instead it feels like her gift to the world.
I myself have a virtue name: [name]Grace[/name], and have never enjoyed the virtue related comments (say grace, [name]Grace[/name]/ungraceful [name]Grace[/name] etc.)
Keep in mind this is unavoidable with word and virtue names [name]IMO[/name]
My sister lives next door to a sibset names [name]Patience[/name] and Blessing, I believe they’re from [name]West[/name] [name]Africa[/name] so maybe it’s normal to give virtue names like those but I’m not sure. Anyways I think [name]Patience[/name] is nice though its nms (not my style)
I think it would be adorable. [name]Patience[/name] [name]Eve[/name] was the first combo to come to mind. Others:
[name]Patience[/name] [name]Willow[/name]
[name]Patience[/name] [name]Violet[/name]
[name]Patience[/name] [name]Calista[/name]
[name]Patience[/name] [name]Ophelia[/name]
[name]Patience[/name] [name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Patience[/name] [name]Louisa[/name]
[name]Patience[/name] [name]Lila[/name]
[name]Patience[/name] [name]Ivy[/name]
I know a blonde, grown-up named [name]Patience[/name]. She was so named in part because she was born past her due date. She has gotten a lot of stupid jokes on it (especially as she works in retail), but she was never called [name]Pat[/name]. I think it’s a pretty name with a long history and a good meaning. If you love it, use it.
I like [name]Patience[/name]. It’s one of the virtue names that I find classy and understated.
For a middle name, I’d recommend a few in addition to the great suggestions you’ve already got.
[name]Patience[/name] [name]Colette[/name]
[name]Patience[/name] [name]Rosalie[/name]
[name]Patience[/name] [name]Annette[/name]
[name]How[/name] about
[name]Patience[/name] [name]Marie[/name]
Or a middle name that your daughter could use a zillion different nicknames from if she does not like [name]Patience[/name] when grown like
[name]Patience[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name].
Only saying because I used [name]Autumn[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] just in case [name]Autumn[/name] did not like [name]Autumn[/name]. Neither of my grandmothers liked their first names. [name]Blossom[/name] said she hated being named after a cow, but as far as I know she always used the [name]Blossom[/name]. [name]Myrtle[/name] was always called by her middle name [name]Marie[/name]. None of the kids or grands r greats have been named [name]Blossom[/name] or [name]Myrtle[/name]…
I don’t think the name carries any sort of visual or ethnic connotations, so a “little blonde girl” could carry it as well as anyone else.
It will strike you as supremely ironic during those terrible 2s, though.
