I came across the name Stana… As in Stana Katic (the beautiful [name_f]Kate[/name_f] [name_m]Beckett[/name_m] on Castle). I pronounce it Staw-na. I really like Stana [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] and Stana [name_f]Elaine[/name_f]… Wdyt?
I actually really like it! It’s quite hot lol! And that’s definitely not a bad thing : )
I shy away from names where (I assume) many people will mishear. Stana ([name_f]Shawna[/name_f]?)
This is why I can’t get behind [name_f]Samara[/name_f] ([name_f]Tamara[/name_f]) [name_f]Alivia[/name_f] ([name_f]Olivia[/name_f]) [name_u]Everly[/name_u] ([name_f]Beverly[/name_f]) [name_f]Zadie[/name_f] ([name_f]Sadie[/name_f]) and my GP love [name_f]Tulia[/name_f] ([name_f]Julia[/name_f])
However, I think I’m from a different generation that knows women of the misheard names.
I saw it and immediately thought it would be stan - ah
I really like it but I’m also concerned that many people will mispronounce it.
It’s okay, not really my style. I prefer Stana [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] over Stana [name_f]Elaine[/name_f]. I would naturally pronounce this name star-nah.
I absolutely love this name, I too heard it from my favorite show, Castle! It’s short and sweet but equally as gorgeous and feminine as longer names. It’s been high on my list for a long time, and I will definitely consider it when it’s time to have kids. I do think it could potentially be mispronounced (Stae-na?) but it’s easy to spell. And it’s not very popular and certainly not heard of much in [name_u]America[/name_u], so I think it will definitely take people aback when they hear it
I read it first as “Stay-nuh” and then thought, oh, maybe it’s “Staaa-nuh” (rhymes with banana). I had not thought of Stah-nuh. I agree it’s got a very nice sound. Would you consider spelling it with an h or w to make the pronunciation more clear? Stawna or Stahna? or something like that?
It looks like [name_m]Stan[/name_m]-ah to me, which is just ok.
