What do y’all think of the name [name]Vara[/name]? (v[name]AIR[/name]-uh) It’s a variation of [name]Vera[/name], which is my great grandmother’s name. I really like it, but wanted to get some other opinions…
What about [name]Veda[/name]?
I like it okay, but I would keep to the [name]Vera[/name] spelling. I’ve seen [name]Vera[/name] as both [name]VEER[/name]-ah and VARE-ah, but I would automatically say [name]Vara[/name] as VAH-rah (like [name]Zara[/name]). Still, it’s very pretty and I love the significance.
I like it a lot! [name]Vara[/name]. Sounds pretty. However, I have to agree with the pp and say that I’m sure people would pronounce it Vah-rah. I love -ara names, though, and think this one is very pretty. Consider spelling it differently? Vaira, Vaera? I’m not sure how else you could spell it.
I’m struggling with the spelling; i’d like to stick with [name]Vera[/name] or [name]Vara[/name] but either way we’ll be correcting prn. I think the [name]Vara[/name] spelling will be a little easier since [name]Vera[/name] is the more familiar of the two, and more identified with the veer-ah prn. Of those two which do y’all prefer?
I think the spelling [name]Vara[/name] would get your point across better than [name]Vera[/name], since [name]Vera[/name] is so commonly pronounced as [name]Veer[/name]-uh. ([name]Vera[/name] Wang, [name]Vera[/name] [name]Bradley[/name]) [name]Just[/name] by reading [name]Vara[/name] I know it’s pronounced Vair-uh, I wouldn’t think to say Vah-ruh, but that’s just me. either way the name is great, I love it!
I would pronounce it as Vah-rah instead of v[name]AIR[/name]-rah when I first see it. I think it is due to the already well known [name]Vera[/name]. Everyone knows [name]Vera[/name] is pronounce v[name]AIR[/name]-rah.
