Wdyt?

SO is finally contributing to my list of names for our future babies. He is 1/2 Italian, so he really wants an Italian name for at least one of our potential kids. The name however happens to be a name of one of my cousins. And he doesn’t like any alternatives.

The name is G!ovann! V!ncent, G!ovann! is an name he really likes and V!ncent is his grandfathers name. G!ovann! is also my cousins name.

I suggested [name_m]Gianni[/name_m]. He doesn’t like it as much. I also suggested instead of pronouncing it Gi-o-[name_u]Vanni[/name_u], we could pronounce it [name_u]Jo[/name_u]-vanni. But he doesn’t like that.

Any suggestions? What do you guys think?

[name_m]Vincenzo[/name_m] is the Italian form of [name_m]Vincent[/name_m]. Perhaps that would work?

[name_m]Giuliano[/name_m] (I met one)
Giovanno
[name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m] (I know about three guys with this name. I like how it sounds.)
[name_m]Giulio[/name_m]
[name_m]Vicente[/name_m] (though it’s Spanish and Portuguese)
[name_m]Valentino[/name_m] (the fashion group “ruined” this name pretty much) - Latin
[name_u]Valentine[/name_u] (Latin name too. Italian language comes from Latin language, if this makes any difference to you).

I hope, I helped a little. Good luck!

[name_u]Love[/name_u] the suggestion of [name_m]Vicenzo[/name_m] for you.

I like [name_m]Vicenzo[/name_m], especially because I could use the nickname [name_m]Enzo[/name_m]. He said he’d think about it, but that [name_m]Giovanni[/name_m] was his favorite boy name so far. He doesn’t like any of the other names on our list as much as [name_m]Giovanni[/name_m].

@lu_brazil : I like [name_m]Valentin[/name_m] and [name_m]Valentino[/name_m], but I can’t use them because [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] is my nieces middle name. So everyone would assume I ripped off the name. I ran [name_m]Giuliano[/name_m] by my SO and he doesnt like it.

Thanks for all the suggestions
