We agree! But now what do we choose?

DH and I finally agree on girls names! However now we need input on which flows best with our current girls. Which name goes best with big sisters

[name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] nn [name_u]Josie[/name_u]
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] nn [name_f]Tillie[/name_f]

Options:
[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] nn [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]
[name_f]Agnes[/name_f] nn [name_f]Aggie[/name_f]
We also love the nn [name_f]Rorie[/name_f] but do not love [name_f]Lorelai[/name_f] or [name_f]Aurora[/name_f]

Which would you choose?

I prefer the nickname [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] with your other girls’ nicknames, but I prefer [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] as a full name with the others’ full names.

Are [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] and [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] completely off the table?

[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f]! [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] is an adorable nickname and goes great especially with your other kids names. I think [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] is a lovely name.

[name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] “[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]”, [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] “[name_u]Josie[/name_u]”, [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] “[name_f]Tillie[/name_f]”, and [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] “[name_f]Winnie[/name_f]”.

We already have a [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] in our circle and I’m not that fond of [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]

Hilariously, I completely agree with the first poster here. I love [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] and [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] but I would actually suggest [name_f]Willamina[/name_f] to get to [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]. It’s a slight spelling variation but it makes the name way more approachable.

[name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] nn [name_u]Josie[/name_u]
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] nn [name_f]Tillie[/name_f]
[name_f]Willamina[/name_f] nn [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]

If [name_f]Willamina[/name_f] is totally out of the question, I think [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] is lovely. And it has the added benefit of having that cute little girl from Despicable Me to relate to!

[name_f]Agnes[/name_f] would be a great fit

I like both, but [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] gets my vote! [name_m]Just[/name_m] think The Importance Of Being [name_m]Earnest[/name_m]!

I like the nickname [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] but not [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f]. What about [name_f]Winona[/name_f]? [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] I just can’t get into - all of your daughters’ names are lovely rehabilitated vintage names, but [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] is an old lady name that can’t be anything other than old lady to me and just doesn’t have a pretty sound. I’d prefer [name_f]Ines[/name_f]/[name_f]Inez[/name_f], or even [name_f]Agatha[/name_f].

What about [name_f]Dolores[/name_f] for the nickname [name_f]Rorie[/name_f]? [name_f]Lorraine[/name_f] and [name_f]Corinne[/name_f] are also possibilities.

I think [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] suits the other three names better but I dislike [name_f]Aggie[/name_f].

I vote for [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f].
What about [name_f]Rowena[/name_f] with the nickname [name_f]Rorie[/name_f]?

[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f]!

[name_f]Rowina[/name_f] would also work for [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]!

Warmest congratulations @lady,

I would choose [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f], [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] {and} [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f].

Or [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] vs. [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] in keeping with three-syllable vintage firsts.

I like [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] also!! Maybe nn [name_f]Nessie[/name_f]

[name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] nn [name_u]Josie[/name_u]
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] nn [name_f]Tillie[/name_f]

[name_f]Agnes[/name_f] is perfect. I think it’s more beautiful, chic and substantial than [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f].

[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] aren’t related stylistically, but they have the same structure and weight, as well similar endings. I don’t think [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] is as grounded or old-fashioned as your other girls. [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] seems to go well with lighter girly names like [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]. The 3 Gwendolyns I know had sisters named: [name_f]Amy[/name_f], [name_f]Tarrah[/name_f], and… [name_f]Keri[/name_f]. 2 out of 3 went by [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] and 1 was [name_f]Gwennie[/name_f].

[name_f]Agnes[/name_f] with [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f], [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]

[name_f]Nessie[/name_f]
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]
[name_u]Josie[/name_u]
[name_f]Tillie[/name_f]

[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] (though I prefer [name_f]Gwendolen[/name_f]). [name_u]Love[/name_u] this one, and [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] is sweet with your other kinds’ nicknames.

[name_f]Agnes[/name_f]! I do prefer [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] to [name_f]Aggie[/name_f], but Gwenolyn feels different stylistically from your other names. [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] fits beautifully.

[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f]! [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] with your kids names!
