Having some AMAZING girls names ready to go, we are still struggling with our search for boys names we love just as much! The only name we have set in stone is [name]Merrick[/name] [name]Liam[/name]. Other than that here is what we have -
[name]Callen[/name] [name]Noah[/name] would be lovely. A few suggestions:
[name]Kellan[/name]
[name]Stellan[/name]
[name]Osias[/name]
[name]Randall[/name]
[name]Amos[/name]
[name]Vincent[/name]
[name]Quinlan[/name]
What are your girl’s names? If you post some names you love, we will have some thoughts about your style so suggest similar names.
[name]Cora[/name] [name]Lucille[/name] and [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Louisa[/name]
I too thought that [name]Callen[/name] [name]Noah[/name] would be adorable, however I noticed it sort or runs together and sounds like ‘callenoah’ which sounds silly!
I absolutely love [name]Callen[/name] though, I think it is my favorite of the boys names. It just needs a perfect middle name! I would probably use [name]Callen[/name] Before [name]Merrick[/name]! [name]Merrick[/name], although I do love [name]Merrick[/name] [name]Liam[/name], is my husbands love of the list
I thin [name]Callen[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] would be better than [name]Callen[/name] [name]Noah[/name]. I’m not that keen on [name]Merrick[/name] or [name]McCoy[/name] (the crisp company) and Zealand (as in [name]New[/name]?) I think your girls and boys name tastes are a lot different, I personally think the middle names for boys would be better and would suit so much better with the future sisters names.
Now that I see your girl names, I agree with cannebella. I really like [name]Merrick[/name] and [name]Callan[/name], but all your boy names are much different than your girl names. [name]Cora[/name] and [name]Ivy[/name] are very pretty. Zealand and [name]McCoy[/name] don’t really go with those at all. I find Zealand odd for a name (everyone will say “like [name]New[/name] Zealand?”) and the “[name]Zea[/name]” part still makes it feel girly to me. [name]McCoy[/name] is so surnamey that it is odd for a first name.
With [name]Cora[/name] and [name]Ivy[/name], I’d suggest [name]Callan[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] or [name]Noah[/name] [name]Jonathan[/name] or [name]Levi[/name] [name]John[/name]
I like [name]Merrick[/name] [name]Liam[/name] with [name]Cora[/name] [name]Lucille[/name] and [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Louisa[/name]. Yes, I agree that your boys names are more contemporary than your vintage girls but I think many parents have different styles of names for each gender.
You are all absolutely right. I think the reason that I love our girls list so much more than our boys, is because my husband agreed on names that I was already in love with. But his name style is really wishy washy in that he really doesn’t HAVE a style. Girls were so much easier for us. But he is so picky with boys. I love names like [name]Noah[/name], [name]Levi[/name], [name]Liam[/name], [name]Isaac[/name], [name]Alastair[/name], [name]Parker[/name] , [name]Finn[/name], [name]Malachi[/name]… Layed back but also very book wormish I guess.
My husband doesn’t like many boys names at all! So when he picks one I tend I try and make myself like it! Although he did love [name]Konrad[/name] which I vetoed! But he chose [name]McCoy[/name] and [name]Merrick[/name]. The reason I agreed to those was because it was closer to my style than anything else he likes! And I’ve been having main control over middle names since I’ve been compromising with firsts. But there nothing I just ‘love’ like I do with the girls.
I really love [name]Callen[/name], if I can find the perfect middle. I like [name]Breccan[/name], sterling, wilder, and [name]Rowan[/name], but unfortunately I already tried selling these to my husband with no avail.
[name]Rhett[/name] is definitley a possibility though. My husband likes it for a first name but I’m just not sure i am in love with it! It would fit well with [name]Cora[/name] and ivy though.
I’m wondering … Maybe I could push [name]Rhett[/name] [name]Konrad[/name] or [name]Rhett[/name] [name]Maverick[/name], or something that would strike his fancy! Because although I’m not a huge fan of [name]Rhett[/name], it is so so cute with [name]Ivy[/name] and [name]Cora[/name]!
bostonsavvy - I really think that [name]Rhett[/name] [name]Maverick[/name] is an awesome name, [name]Rhett[/name] classic from Gone with the Wind and [name]Maverick[/name] as a spunky middle! It sounds really good with [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Louisa[/name] and [name]Cora[/name] [name]Lucille[/name].
I hope you can sell [name]Rhett[/name]! It goes really well with [name]Ivy[/name] and [name]Cora[/name].
Have you tried:
[name]Archer[/name] ([name]Archie[/name])
[name]Fletcher[/name]
[name]Cormac[/name] (doesn’t work with [name]Cora[/name])
[name]Jonah[/name]
[name]Merrick[/name] [name]Liam[/name] works well with [name]Cora[/name] and [name]Ivy[/name]
Unfortunately, yes. I think I’ve mentioned all of those names (I swear I’ve mentioned them all) to my husband. He is just so picky! The good news is that he really liked [name]Rhett[/name] [name]Maverick[/name]! I think it’s Adorable too, especially paired with [name]Callen[/name] or [name]Ivy[/name] or [name]Cora[/name]. I just need some time to sit on it and fall in love with it maybe a different mn would be better?
I’m glad he seems to like [name]Rhett[/name] (have you considered [name]Everett[/name] with the NN [name]Rhett[/name]? I like [name]Everett[/name] even more than [name]Rhett[/name] myself), that’d be a solid name choice. I’m not such a fan of [name]Maverick[/name] as a MN, but [name]Conrad[/name] would be awesome ([name]Conrad[/name] is one of my top names ever, I think it’s kind of amazing. [name]IMO[/name] it’d be the best first name choice of any you’ve thus far mentioned)
I think [name]Everett[/name] is adorable but my husband has a bad connection to it. So [name]Rhett[/name] it is not a huge fan of conrad but man my husband woul love that!
Haha it does mean something! I’m really loving this combo now too [name]Rhett[/name] just seemed a little too stuffy but paired with [name]Maverick[/name] I think it sounds surfery and beachy and layed back! Any suggestions on a nn for [name]Rhett[/name] [name]Maverick[/name] that woul soften up [name]Rhett[/name]?
