We could use some help!

[name]Hi[/name]! My name is [name]Delilah[/name] and my husband’s name is [name]Clark[/name]. We have tried for a baby for years and now thanks to IVF, we’re expecting triplets on February 16, 2013!
Well, in all of the years that we spent trying to conceive a baby, we never actually came up with a name and we definitely never thought of three! [name]Baby[/name] A is a girl and [name]Baby[/name] B is a boy but [name]Baby[/name] C hasn’t cooperated with us and won’t let us see if they’re a boy or girl which makes this even harder! So we decided to ask you lovely ladies for help!
We like more old-fashioned names and would like if it they had nicknames although it isn’t essential! We would love any suggestions that you ladies have for our little ones!
Thanks,
[name]Delilah[/name] and [name]Clark[/name]

[name]Delilah[/name] is such an uncommon name, with interesting historical associations; [name]Clark[/name] too is very uncommon. [name]How[/name] did you feel growing up with your name? Did it shape your expectations for your childrens’ names?

Also, if you could tell the nameberry community what your surname would be like, and what names you’ve been considering, it will be helpful.

As you know, the average gestational age for a triplet birth is 32 wks, so you’re getting close…

Oh, this will be fun

[name]How[/name] lucky and blessed to have three wonderful babies! Congratulations to you and your husband!

Have you given any thought to how you want the names linked? [name]Do[/name] you like the idea of the siblings sharing a sound, or maybe an initial, or a similar meaning or origin? [name]Do[/name] you just want them to have the same “old-fashioned” feel? [name]Do[/name] you like feminizations at all? (Like [name]Henrietta[/name] and [name]Josephine[/name], for example? A lot of girl names that I consider to be old-fashioned are feminizations of male names) [name]Do[/name] you consider Biblical names as old-fashioned for boys?

If you let us know what your last name sounds like, then we can avoid suggesting names that will clash with your last name.

[name]Just[/name] to start us off (until we can get a better idea of the types names you’re looking for):

[name]Matilda[/name] [name]Frances[/name]
[name]Harriet[/name] [name]Nadine[/name]

We are getting very close which is why we finally gave in and decided to seek help!
I have a love/hate relationship with my name because now I love my name because it’s unique and probably would have loved it as a child but I grew up in a very very religious town but my parents weren’t religious so they never even realized the negative biblical connotation but I was still made fun of as a kid. [name]Clark[/name] says that he has always liked his name because he wasn’t one of six [name]Mike[/name]'s in his class at school. All in all, we want names for our kids that aren’t too different but aren’t common either.
Our last name is [name]Dixon[/name].

Some names that we’ve been considering but just aren’t right:
[name]Annabelle[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Dorothy[/name]
[name]Harriet[/name]
[name]Hazel[/name]
[name]Isadora[/name]
[name]Jane[/name]
[name]Leonore[/name]
[name]Minerva[/name]
[name]Priscilla[/name]

[name]Archibald[/name]
[name]Donovan[/name]
[name]Frederick[/name]
[name]Phineas[/name]
[name]Zachariah[/name]

As you can see, boys names are a lot harder for us!

[name]How[/name] exciting! Are there any names you like that would help us understand your style?
G/B/B
[name]Eleanor[/name], [name]Theodore[/name] and [name]Jasper[/name]
[name]Iris[/name], [name]Emmett[/name] and [name]Levi[/name]
[name]Adeline[/name], [name]Simon[/name] and [name]Thaddeus[/name]

G/B/G
[name]Imogen[/name], [name]Lucas[/name] and [name]Freya[/name]
[name]Stella[/name], [name]Ethan[/name] and [name]Nora[/name]
[name]Emma[/name], [name]Matthew[/name] and [name]Grace[/name]

Good luck and let me know if you like any if my ideas!

Dovah: Thank you so much! We don’t want their names to be matchy because we want people to view them each as individuals rather than the [name]Dixon[/name] triplets.

I adore [name]Florence[/name] and [name]Theodore[/name]! I’ve been trying to convince [name]Clark[/name] that they really are the perfect names especially with the nicknames [name]Flora[/name] and [name]Teddy[/name]!

Congratulations on your soon-to-be triplets, that is so exciting! Well, since it is very late at night for me, I am going to give in to temptation and be extremely “cutesie” about my suggestions. Based on you and your husband’s first names, and finding names with similar meanings…
A combination of these would give you the initials CDEFG.

Elena (bright, shining)
Felicity (happy)
Grace (virtue name)

Elliot (the lord is my god)
Frederick (peaceful ruler)
Gabriel (god is my strength)

If none of those are you style, I will check back tomorrow and think of some other options, including mn’s. But good luck! =]

edit: I just saw that you were unsure about Frederick, so I wanted to add my favorite combos:
Felicity, Gabriel and Elena for 2girls and 1boy
Felicity, Gabriel, and Elliot for 2boys and 1girl

First off. Congratulations, how amazing and incredibly exciting.
I think my top choices for triplets would be:

G/B/G (Name first row, NN second row)
[name]Henrietta[/name] (suggested because you like [name]Harriet[/name] but it wasn’t perfect)/ [name]Maximillian[/name] /[name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Hattie[/name]/ [name]Max[/name] /[name]Posey[/name]

G/B/B
[name]Aurora[/name] /[name]Sebastian[/name]/ [name]Emmett[/name]
[name]Aura[/name] /[name]Basti[/name]/ [name]Em[/name] (I know this is usually used for girls but I think it would be great for a guy as well)

I love [name]Theodore[/name] ([name]Teddy[/name]) but didn’t include it since it’s been mentioned though I feel it could replace any of the boys names.

[name]Annaliese[/name]
[name]Susannah[/name]

Thank you guys for the suggestions! [name]Clark[/name] and I will talk about them tonight but in the mean time, What do you guys think about [name]Phillipa[/name] with the nickname [name]Pippa[/name]?
I found it when I was looking through a name book today and I’m in love! I text [name]Clark[/name] and he really like it too! So what do you guys think about it?

You know, it’s funny. [name]April[/name] 17, 2001 (your anniversary) was a [name]Tuesday[/name], which is an odd day to get married on…

And there are no [name]Clark[/name] Dixons in the US cohabiting with a [name]Delilah[/name] (according to all the people-search websites)-- but there IS an 18-yo story-writer named [name]Delilah[/name] who’s in love with a boy called ‘[name]Clark[/name] [name]Dixon[/name].’

http://www.quotev.com/story/1650949/Say-That-You-Love-Me/6/

Coincidence?

@[name]Blade[/name] so I had to click the link attached and read a little. It’s funny that the story is set in St. [name]Augustine[/name] Fl. That’s where I grew up, would have thought they would use a real high school not make one up. And it looks like in the story [name]Delilah[/name] and [name]Dylan[/name] are getting together and [name]Jemma[/name] and [name]Clark[/name]. Sorry just thought it was too funny to see STA mentioned anywhere

Hmmm.

G/G/B - I would do [name]Ivy[/name], [name]Gwendolen[/name] and [name]Arthur[/name]
G/B/B - [name]Gwendolen[/name], [name]Arthur[/name] and [name]Damian[/name].

I’ve never been more glad to have a crazy common name.
