Never heard of [name_f]Shyla[/name_f] actually but I’m assuming it is pronounced (SHY-luh). I do not know the origin either but judging by the people nameberry has listed who have this given name it is southeast asian and south pacific perhaps? I saw a woman in [name_f]India[/name_f] and another in [name_f]Fiji[/name_f] who carried it as their first name.

I know that it means white dove and also daughter of the mountain. It is [name_f]Indian[/name_f] in origin and another name for [name_f]Parvati[/name_f], the goddess of fertility in Hinduism. I am an avid yoga practitioner and instructor and did IVF to get pregnant, so ilthe name stuck when i heard it!
