We have decided! Now I just need your approval

We have all but decided on

[name]Annie[/name] [name]Amelia[/name]

for our girl who could be coming any day now. Her older brother’s name is jack. What are your thoughts? We discussed [name]Annabel[/name] as full name but in the end thought it would be best to name her what she is going to be called. Plus, [name]Annabel[/name] doesn’t sound as good with our last name, which is [name]Hill[/name]. Are the initials A.A.H. weird? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!!

Very cute!!! [name]Love[/name] it!!

Well, I think the sweet and spunky [name]Annie[/name] is a better “fit” with brother [name]Jack[/name] than [name]Annabel[/name]. [name]Annie[/name] [name]Hill[/name] reminds me of [name]Annie[/name] [name]Hall[/name] but that’s ok. I can’t see any problem with the A.A.H. initials.

I love it! [name]Jack[/name] and [name]Annie[/name] are adorable together, and [name]Annie[/name] [name]Amelia[/name] is a great combo.

I think the A.A.H initials are fine. Have you considered [name]Anne[/name] [name]Amelia[/name] or [name]Anna[/name] [name]Amelia[/name]? I just always think it’s good for children to have a formal name option. I know you want to name her what she’s going to be called, but she may really resent not having [name]Anne[/name] or [name]Anna[/name] to put on a resume or on her office door some day. (I know a [name]Jessie[/name], a [name]Katie[/name], and an [name]Annie[/name] who have all complained about this.) Good luck!

Aww, they’ll have a literary sibset named after them with the [name]Magic[/name] Treehouse books (they’re [name]Annie[/name] and [name]Jack[/name], though I think she’s older in the books).

I tend to be in favor of giving a more “formal” name in case she ever wants to use one on her resume or name plate, etc. [name]Annie[/name] isn’t one of those nicknames that people might be confused about (like [name]Nora[/name] for [name]Eleanor[/name] where you might never think [name]Nora[/name] is a nickname at all). I had a high school friend named [name]Abby[/name], who got used to explaining it was “just [name]Abby[/name], not [name]Abigail[/name].” Are there any other [name]Ann[/name]- names that you like? I agree [name]Annabel[/name] [name]Hill[/name] doesn’t quite roll off the tongue, but I think [name]Anne[/name] [name]Hill[/name] sounds bold and mature (I like the two one-syllable names together). [name]One[/name] might also consider (as you might already have): [name]Annette[/name], [name]Anise[/name] or [name]Anisette[/name], [name]Anneliese[/name], [name]Anais[/name], [name]Anna[/name], [name]Annora[/name], or [name]Annia[/name] (though I see how a name ending in -a might not flow so well with pretty [name]Amelia[/name]).

All that said, if none of those really get you going and you are head over heels for [name]Annie[/name], go for it. I don’t think A.A.H. are bad or weird initials, and [name]Annie[/name] [name]Amelia[/name] has a nice ring to it. My friend [name]Abby[/name] seems to have gotten by fine

Very sweet name, I think it goes well with brother [name]Jack[/name] too! I prefer [name]Annie[/name] to [name]Annabel[/name] with the middle name you’ve chosen too, so I think it’s a lovely choice!

Good luck.

[name]Annie[/name] and [name]Jack[/name] are perfect together, I too would prefer to see formal name [name]Anne[/name] or [name]Anna[/name] so she could grow into a more adult name.

[name]Annie[/name] is adorable with [name]Jack[/name]!

[name]Annie[/name] [name]Amelia[/name] is sweet, it has a very storybook quality to it.

I think it’s cute.

[name]Annie[/name] and [name]Jack[/name] are adorable- I grew up with The [name]Magic[/name] Treehouse books, and they were the main characters. [name]Annabel[/name] [name]Hill[/name] does sort of lack flow, but it’s not terrible. [name]Annie[/name] [name]Amelia[/name] is cute, though [name]Anne[/name] [name]Amelia[/name] would be nice too.

I tend to be more of a fan of formal names, but I don’t think [name]Annie[/name] [name]Amelia[/name] is bad - it’s really cue and flows wonderfully with her brother’s name.

It’s a very sweet combo. I definitely approve. [name]Annie[/name] is a great match with [name]Jack[/name] and I don’t see any issues with initials.

[name]Lovely[/name] choice!

rollo

I think [name]Annie[/name] [name]Amelia[/name] is lovely! [name]Annie[/name] is so cute, and pairs very well with [name]Jack[/name]! It’s one of the nicknames-as-first-names that really works, because I don’t think [name]Annie[/name] is too cutesy; it ages perfectly! I think AAH as initials are fine

Congratulations on finding a name, and for the impending birth of your daughter

I love the sound of [name]Annie[/name] [name]Amelia[/name]. I think it’s gorgeous, and it flows well. There’s also this charming sense about it that I can’t pin down, but it makes me think of a very happy child, very much dancing to her own beat. I cannot get over how much I love this combo. I wouldn’t change a thing if I were you.
