[name_f]Theodora[/name_f] is a better option. I’ve never heard of Esteri, and I’m sure how to pronounce it. Is it pronounced like [name_f]Esther[/name_f] followed by the “eee” sound? Without know its roots of [name_f]Esther[/name_f], I’d guess it was ess-tair-eye. While I love [name_f]Esther[/name_f], Esteri is just a bit too out there for me.

I love Esteri!

Esteri [name_f]Theodora[/name_f]!

[name_f]Theodora[/name_f] Esteri.

I love Esteri! Never heard it before but it is divine and I prefer it to [name_f]Theodora[/name_f].

The first line of your posts suggests you already have a kid. I would choose the fn that fits better with there’s in style.
[name_m]Just[/name_m] because her fn might be [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] doesn’t mean that she can’t go by her middle Esteri. I know quite a few people that do.
I voted for [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] Esteri because I think it has a nicer flow.

I agree with the above post… [name_m]Even[/name_m] if it is her middle name, it isn’t uncommon for people to be called by their middle name and at least it is on her birth certificate.
My brother gets called by his middle name (his middle name was in honor of a family member) and after he came home from the hospital, my other brother and live-in grandma called him by that name and it sort of just ‘stuck’.
It all depends on what is more important to you and not us…

If you would like to have it as her first name do it… If you think it’s a little too out there as a first keep it as her middle name.
She can still be reffered to by her middle name and I think it’s splitting hairs to worry about it as it will be on her birth certificate anyway

I really like Esteri! My instinct was to pronounce it similar to [name_f]Kateri[/name_f]–like es-TARE-ee. [name_m]How[/name_m] do you say it? I think that would determine more. Esteri is fun and unusual, though, and I really like it, though I’ve not seen it before, either. It can have all the fun nns of [name_f]Esther[/name_f] (Estey, [name_f]Tess[/name_f]!) while being a bit more unusual and not as old-fashioned (I love [name_f]Esther[/name_f], it just seems too old-fashioned for me still). I think Esteri [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] is fab. Stunning, really.

Good luck!

Ditto all of this. It’s totally fine if you end up calling her by her middle name. Doesn’t mean you named her wrong. I voted for [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] Esteri because it has a better flow. And just for the record, I’m assuming Esteri is prn ess-TAIR-ee.
