For 9 years we have agreed to [name]Damian[/name] [name]Ray[/name] for a boy. However, now DH feels like it is too close to another relatives name. Also, he hates that his mom AND my mom relate the name to the Omen, which is such a shame. I was really going a long with the name this entire time because it was DHs favorite. So, since [name]Damian[/name] is officially out of the picture, we need a new boys name! I haven’t ever given this a ton of serious thought because I always assumed we’d name a boy [name]Damian[/name]. And the little thought I did give to it was always “A brother for [name]Damian[/name].” LOL
What do you think of these? Also what names would you suggest? (I edited this and left the most realistic names on the list. The ones I could see DH at least considering, and me not feeling like I went over board, or maybe regretting later.)
I think [name]Finn[/name], [name]Clark[/name], and [name]Pierce[/name] are fine, as are [name]Seamus[/name], [name]Cedric[/name] and [name]Edmund[/name].
[name]Hal[/name] is usually a nickname for [name]Henry[/name] or [name]Harold[/name]. [name]Tripp[/name] is usually a nickname for a boy who is the “3rd”, but it’s kind of associated with [name]Bristol[/name] [name]Palin[/name] these days. That may be a bit too celebribaby for those of us who are normal people.
You could use [name]Dane[/name], [name]Darius[/name], or [name]Damon[/name] in place of [name]Damian[/name].
I so don’t follow celebrity names. lol Which is funny, you’d think I would seeing as how much I love this site. I actually got [name]Tripp[/name] from star trek. blush But i love it. lol I never knew [name]Hal[/name] came from [name]Henry[/name], that’s really good to know! I actually like [name]Henry[/name], but DH doesn’t.
[name]How[/name] about [name]Devon[/name] to replace [name]Damion[/name]?
Of your one syllable names, the only one I really like is [name]Hal[/name]. But is does remind me of 2001: A Space Odyssey.

[name]Dash[/name]
[name]Nash[/name]
[name]Joel[/name]
[name]Joe[/name]
[name]Blake[/name]

Stash (If I had been a boy, my parents were going to name me this!)
[name]Cassius[/name] nn [name]Cash[/name]
[name]Gus[/name]
I also love [name]Cedric[/name] and [name]Seamus[/name]. I don’t think they are froo froo at all.
Two thumbs up for saying they don’t sound froo froo.
I kind of like [name]Cash[/name] because of [name]Johnny[/name] [name]Cash[/name]. [name]Blake[/name] is a really nice name, but I have a cousin [name]Blake[/name].
[name]Lori[/name] that’s so cool! Apparently i have an actual style type! Thanks.
I’m not loving [name]Ned[/name], aside from Game of Thrones i kind of see [name]Ned[/name] as a bit of a nerdy name. I do like the [name]Ted[/name] idea though. Always loved the name [name]Teddy[/name].
Well i am a name nerd, so that looks like more fun then it should. I’m going to go do it now.
Edit to add: ok, this is going to be hard, line one I have to choose between Laurel and Lori.
Edit again, and how can one choose between Gavin and Davin?!?
I got Classic Eccentric the highest, with Classic Unusual following a ways behind.
lol I changed the list, again! I shortened it. Took out ones that were obvious no’s, even to my self. Then went back through and took out the ones I had to admit I wouldn’t really use.
I have the same problem [name]Damian[/name]/[name]Damon[/name], and ended up giving up on the name once we had our son. Now that we are trying again, if it is a boy, we might consider [name]Damian[/name]/[name]Damon[/name] again. I don’t care anymore if people link the name with something evil/negative. The true meaning of the name is lovely and once people see it on an actual little boy their preconceived impressions of the name should fly out the window! Its not like it has a deep and dark history like [name]Adolph[/name] of [name]Lucifer[/name] etc. It was just a fricken movie! lol
I say stick with [name]Damian[/name]. From your list I like [name]Demetri[/name], [name]Cedric[/name] and [name]Graham[/name]!
That was a fun quiz, [name]Lori[/name]! Thanks for sharing! Also, it’s eerily accurate…my ENTIRE boys list for our son is there, including the name we ended up giving him ([name]Desmond[/name]).
I, too, say to stick with [name]Damian[/name]. Once they see your baby, the only connotation it will have is the name of your infant son, nothing else.
