  • Ruben Sage David (nn Ben/Benny) : 28 (31%)
  • Oscar Peregine David (nn Pip/Pippin): 27 (30%)

I’d drop the “wolf” in [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m] (and for goodness sakes, no Wolfie!). If that was the case, I think [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] and [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] would be equally good choices (and, for the future, a cute sibset)

Agree with the previous poster about dropping [name_m]Wolf[/name_m], and definitely not using Wolfie! It just comes off as silly to me. I also have two middle names and have found it a hassle, so I always advise against it unless you have a really good reason for it (not just that you like the names or the sound). [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m] is lovely, though!

Voted for [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m] [name_m]Wolf[/name_m] ^^ Solid combo, even though I find [name_m]David[/name_m] kind of dull. I would like just [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] [name_m]Wolf[/name_m] a lot more.
And while I like [name_m]Wolf[/name_m] at the end, I don’t care for Wolfie at all, especially when [name_m]Wolf[/name_m] is not the first name. Wolves are not cute, Wolfie feels very jarring to me, like trying to pretty up something that isn’t meant to be pretty (like sparkly vampires!). Wolves are strong, wild and free, [name_m]Wolf[/name_m] perfectly embodies that, Wolfie completely ruins it.

If I could mix and match, I would pick [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] [name_u]Sage[/name_u] or [name_m]Pippin[/name_m] [name_m]Wolf[/name_m] [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m].

I voted for [name_m]Ruben[/name_m] [name_u]Sage[/name_u] [name_m]David[/name_m]. I love having the nn [name_m]Ben[/name_m] or [name_m]Benny[/name_m] that he can either keep as he grows up or go by formal full name. I love [name_m]David[/name_m] too, yes it’s less “trendy” but very strong and won’t ever look odd; it’s a great anchor to this name. I’m not a fan of [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m], it comes across as too many feminine connections for me, i.e. [name_f]Amber[/name_f]/[name_f]Rose[/name_f]. [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] is also a name I personally don’t connect with, reminds me too much of penguin.

I chose [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m] [name_m]Wolf[/name_m], which I think is really handsome, but I don’t care for either of the nn options, esp Wolfie which I think is a bit strange. I think just using ‘[name_m]Wolf[/name_m]’ as a nn would work well as an alternative.

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_m]Ruben[/name_m] [name_u]Sage[/name_u] [name_m]David[/name_m]. The nn options are great, the name is unique but familiar, and if u go by the meanings, his name would literally translate to “‘behold, a son’ ‘wise and knowing’ 'beloved’” and I think that is so cool!

[name_m]Oscar[/name_m] is p cool also, but [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] is nms.

[name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m] [name_m]Wolf[/name_m] has my vote! I love the nickname [name_m]Abe[/name_m], but I do not like the nickname Wolfie.

I voted [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], I love [name_m]Pip[/name_m] as a nn and I can’t think of using [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] as I live in [name_u]Devon[/name_u] where they sing Ooh ahh ambrosia (in a strong devon farmers accent  ) Doesn’t mean you shouldn’t use it though!!

I love [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m] [name_m]Wolf[/name_m]! So handsome. I like [name_m]Abe[/name_m] and Wolfie as nicknames {why all the Wolfie dissent?}, though I would also like to suggest [name_m]Bram[/name_m] and [name_m]Moby[/name_m].

I love the use of [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] (that’s why I voted for [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m]) and I think that [name_m]Pip[/name_m] is such a cute nn!

Oh goodness, such handsome names!

[name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m] [name_m]Wolf[/name_m] got my vote. While I would never be that brave, it does have a superb sound - and awesome nicknames! [name_m]Abe[/name_m] is classy, and Wolfie has adorable potential (come on guys!)

Only a runner up because of slightly-less-nice flow, comes [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m]. [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] would be easier as a first name, and I admit [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] is a guilty pleasure of mine. And how cool is [name_m]Pip[/name_m]/[name_m]Pippin[/name_m]?

You’ve got me with these names - I feel your dillema!
Best of luck

My favorite combo is [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] Peregine [name_m]David[/name_m]. I would adore [name_m]David[/name_m] [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] [name_m]Wolf[/name_m]. You could use [name_m]Dax[/name_m], [name_m]Wolf[/name_m], or Wolfie as a nickname. I am with chrisco in not understanding all the dislike of [name_m]Wolf[/name_m] and Wolfie.

I love [name_m]Ruben[/name_m] (prefer it spelt [name_m]Reuben[/name_m] though) and [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], like [name_m]David[/name_m], and think [name_m]Wolf[/name_m] is okay. If it was on there, I’d probably choose something with three of these names in it. I’m not a fan of [name_u]Sage[/name_u] (on a boy), [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] or [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m].

I prefer [name_m]Ruben[/name_m] to [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], but I am a sucker for [name_m]Peregrin[/name_m][e]/[name_m]Pippin[/name_m]/[name_m]Pip[/name_m]! So my vote goes to [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m]. A very handsome combo btw:)

Wow wow wow, thanks for all the lovely feedback, everybody. I’m relieved to see some [name_m]Wolf[/name_m]/Wolfie supporters; it certainly feels like the outlier/wild card name among our choices.

We’ll sit with these names over the next seven-ish weeks and see who we have when he arrives. Some days I am so certain he’ll be [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m], and then it’s [name_m]Ruben[/name_m] I imagine, and then [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] will surprise me by sticking out for a while. Hard sayin’, not knowin’!

I was stuck between [name_m]Ruben[/name_m] and [name_m]Oscar[/name_m]. I prefer [name_m]Ruben[/name_m], but I dislike [name_m]Ben[/name_m] and [name_m]Benny[/name_m]. They just seem like dull nicknames compared to [name_m]Ruben[/name_m], which I find stunningly handsome. I love the idea of [name_m]Pip[/name_m] or [name_m]Pippin[/name_m] as nicknames for [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m], although I think it’s a bit weird to call a child a nickname from one of their middle names. So, because of that, I voted for [name_m]Ruben[/name_m].

While Wolfie isn’t my style, I don’t see why it’s a huge deal.
