We thought we had a name, but now I’m not so sure!

[name_f]Evening[/name_f]

I am 29 weeks pregnant with my second boy. I have a nearly 12 year old named [name_f]Layla[/name_f] from a previous relationship, and with my current partner we have a 2 year old boy and another on the way.

My boy’s name is [name_m]Caspian[/name_m], and I [name_f]ADORE[/name_f] IT! We also call him [name_u]Cass[/name_u] for short which I equally love.

We have struggled to come up with names for this baby, we feel like we set the bar quite high with [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] and can’t find anything we love as much.

A few weeks ago we came across a name which we both actually like (we disagree the majority of the time). The name is [name_m]Maddox[/name_m].

I’ve always liked it as a name, so it kind of stuck. However now I’m having second thoughts. I’m not sure it goes with [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] and I also feel it’s more of a modern / made up name. I love classic names or names linked to literature etc and [name_m]Maddox[/name_m] just isn’t that. Also I can’t shorten in like I can [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] which I didn’t realise until now may be an important aspect to me.

I am seriously struggling with coming up with any other ideas :frowning: help me!!!

Middle names will be [name_m]Charles[/name_m] [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] (family names) and last name [name_m]Barker[/name_m].

You tried posting this twice and both attempts got blocked by the spam filter. I approved this one and deleted the second attempt (if you want that one to be shown I can undo the deletion).

Maybe [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m], nicknamed “[name_m]Wells[/name_m]” for short? Or you could use “[name_u]Max[/name_u]” as a nickname to [name_m]Maddox[/name_m]?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

[name_m]Caspian[/name_m] is an awesome name. Hard to match!

[name_m]How[/name_m] about…

[name_m]Atlas[/name_m]

[name_m]Cove[/name_m]

[name_u]Dakota[/name_u]

[name_m]Desmond[/name_m]

[name_m]Ivan[/name_m]

[name_m]Julian[/name_m]

[name_u]Kai[/name_u]

[name_m]Maximus[/name_m]

[name_u]Nico[/name_u]

[name_m]Oscar[/name_m]

[name_m]Odin[/name_m]

[name_m]Phineas[/name_m]

[name_m]Rafael[/name_m]

[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]

[name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m]

[name_u]Tristan[/name_u]

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_m]Felix[/name_m]? It has a similar sound to [name_m]Maddox[/name_m]. You can shorten it to [name_m]Fox[/name_m].

If you are still unsettled on the name [name_m]Maddox[/name_m] when he arrives, it reminds me of [name_m]Mannix[/name_m] which you may like. You could use nicknames like [name_m]Mani[/name_m] or [name_f]Nix[/name_f]. I also like the suggestion of [name_m]Felix[/name_m].

[name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] (nn [name_m]Fox[/name_m]) came to mind.

[name_m]Atticus[/name_m] (nn [name_u]Kit[/name_u], [name_m]Ace[/name_m], [name_u]Gus[/name_u]?)
[name_m]Tobias[/name_m] (nn [name_u]Toby[/name_u])
[name_m]Cyrus[/name_m] (nn [name_m]Cy[/name_m])
[name_m]Salvatore[/name_m] (nn [name_u]Sal[/name_u], [name_m]Thor[/name_m])
[name_m]Griffin[/name_m] (nn [name_m]Fin[/name_m])
[name_m]Hendrix[/name_m] (nn [name_m]Ric[/name_m], [name_m]Ed[/name_m], [name_u]Rex[/name_u])

[name_m]Maddox[/name_m] could be [name_u]Max[/name_u]! I do like it

[name_m]Caspian[/name_m] ‘[name_u]Cass[/name_u]’ and…

[name_m]Magnus[/name_m] ‘[name_u]Gus[/name_u]’
[name_u]Lennox[/name_u] ‘[name_u]Lex[/name_u]’ ‘Nox’
[name_m]Leander[/name_m] ‘[name_m]Leo[/name_m]’ ‘[name_m]Anders[/name_m]’
[name_m]Silas[/name_m] ‘[name_m]Sy[/name_m]’
[name_m]Fergus[/name_m] ‘[name_u]Gus[/name_u]’ ‘[name_u]Fergie[/name_u]’
[name_m]Romeo[/name_m] '[name_u]Mo[/name_u] ’ ‘[name_f]Ro[/name_f]’ ‘[name_u]Romy[/name_u]’ ‘[name_u]Remy[/name_u]’
[name_u]Dylan[/name_u] ‘Dill’
[name_m]Cedric[/name_m] ‘[name_u]Kit[/name_u]’

I actually think this is a great combo, because both are slightly unexpected and great choices.

I like the idea of [name_u]Max[/name_u], or you could call him [name_m]Maddox[/name_m] [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] and use his initials… baby [name_m]Mac[/name_m]. [name_u]Love[/name_u] it!!!

[name_m]Severin[/name_m]
[name_m]Tobias[/name_m]
[name_m]Leopold[/name_m]
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]
If you choose the name [name_m]Maddox[/name_m] you can always use: Dox, Adix, or [name_u]Max[/name_u] as a nn.

I think [name_m]Maddox[/name_m] fits in nicely. I would use nn [name_m]Mac[/name_m].
[name_f]Layla[/name_f], [name_u]Cass[/name_u] and [name_m]Mac[/name_m]

Or [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u] or [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] as full names
