We welcomed our first child - a boy - four weeks early on [name_u]January[/name_u] 21st. After waiting a couple of days to try out our frontrunners and think about how uncommon we wanted to be, we went with our 1st choice - Zakkai [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] [name_f]Arbor[/name_f] (nn [name_u]Kai[/name_u]). We liked that people seem to like the name Zaccai/Zakai/Zakkai but have difficulty identifying its origin. To more traditional people, we just say, “It’s biblical,” and that seems to get them on board. [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] was a different style of name in case our son does not like his first name, and we figure that he has at least 3 other nicknames he can go by - [name_m]Zak[/name_m], [name_m]Link[/name_m], or [name_m]Cole[/name_m] if he prefers. I used the second middle - [name_f]Arbor[/name_f] - to honor my grandfather [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]. We didn’t like the name [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], but the sound of [name_f]Arbor[/name_f] is similar, and we love the meaning. When we met him, I thought there were other names that could have worked for my son as well, but as we use the name more, it feels like the right choice!
Congratulations! [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] names!
Wow, what a cool name! I’ve never heard Zakkai before. [name_u]Kai[/name_u] is a cool nickname too. Congrats!
