Wednesday!

I’ve finally “got” Wednesday, after loving Tuesday and Sunday for years!

I know this type of name divides the crowd, but what are everyone’s thoughts on it?

Middle name only, probably (Flora Wednesday?) I like that it’s close to an important family name for us: Wendy.

Feel free to be as brutal as you want, this child is entirely imaginary!

I’ve always loved [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f]! Honestly I wouldn’t mind using it as a fn, it’s just a matter of finding the right combo! It’s unique, out-there, and would definitely get a few eye rolls. Perfect for me

I love [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f]! I think it’s definitely middle name only territory for me but I’d probably faint from excitement to meet a [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] who had it as a first name! Also terror, if she’s anything like [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] Addams  .

[name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] is stunning! [name_f]Maia[/name_f] [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] is my combo (although I might be more likely to use [name_f]Amaia[/name_f] [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] now).

[name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] is also in my top 2 dog names  .

[name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] is dreamy! I think I prefer the sound of [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] and [name_f]Tuesday[/name_f], and they are easier to spell. I wonder if people would be turned off by [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] being “hump day” (the hardest day to get through)? I don’t think it would bother me personally though.

I love [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f]! It’s my favorite of the week names. I think it’s spunky and cool. I like it as a first, but I also think it makes a great middle option! I also really love the [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] Addams association! What a great way to honor a [name_f]Wendy[/name_f], as well!
[name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] is such a perfect combo! sweet, quirky, bright, and warm. I love it!

I love it

I personally don’t like [name_f]Monday[/name_f]/Tuesday/etc as names.

To me it are just words, not names. And I would be afraid my child doesn’t like the day they’re named after. For example, I wouldn’t enjoy being named [name_m]Thursday[/name_m] because that is my least favourite day.

I know that the Akan people of Ghana often name their children after the day of the week they were born, so I understand that people with roots in that culture may want to carry this tradition on by calling their child a -day name.
Like month names, day names could also be a subtle way to honor someone: maybe the day they were born, died, always visited, etc. Or indeed just because it’s close in sound: [name_f]Wendy[/name_f] ~> [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f].
I do like the sound and [name_f]Moon[/name_f]/Sun connection of [name_f]Monday[/name_f] and [name_f]Sunday[/name_f], but I still don’t like them as names.

In conclusion, [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] and other -day names are not my style and I would never use them but I can imagine why other people do see the appeal of those names.

[name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] is so cute! [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] does make me think of [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] Addams but that’s a plus for me. It’s a great way to honor a [name_f]Wendy[/name_f].
I like [name_f]Tuesday[/name_f] and [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] too!

I would not personally use [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] as a first name (or at all since it’s NMS). The Addams Family association is too strong. But I quite like [name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f]. The combo is different, but not too out there. I definitely think [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] is much more usable as a middle name than a first name.

As a middle name, i love it! [name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] is a stellar combo!

I’ve always wondered on month and day names if it’s cliche to name your child on the day/ month they were born. Or is more considered odd to name your kid the name of a month or day that has no connection to them. Like can an [name_u]August[/name_u] or [name_f]Junia[/name_f], [name_f]April[/name_f] or [name_m]Julio[/name_m] really be born in [name_u]December[/name_u]? Same with week days can a [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] really be born on a [name_m]Saturday[/name_m]? So Idk if I could ever name a kid either a month or day name, although Inteslly do love [name_u]August[/name_u]. [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] I feel would have never vending associations to the Addams family so one would have to name them expecting it. Also curious should you also need to consider how it translates into other languages? Like it’s [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] to you but is it still [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] since it’s a name or does it become Miercoles to someone who speaks another language? [name_u]Truly[/name_u] do not know and wondering!

[name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] is such a beautiful name! I wasn’t expecting to love it, but I do! It is so unique, feminine and powerful.
[name_m]Just[/name_m] for curiosity, there is a movie called “What happened to [name_f]Monday[/name_f]” in which the seven sisters (septuplets) are named after the days of the week. :spiral_calendar: :calendar:

I think so! I’m one of those who actually finds it stranger, in a way, if the child is born in the actual month. I have a [name_f]September[/name_f]-both [name_f]Juno[/name_f] and used [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] for my [name_u]June[/name_u]-born son, but the names were special to us for other reasons.

I agree days of the week feel a bit different, though — it definitely feels like you need a connection!

I LOVE it and [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] Addams is an I c o n
