Weird BBT fluctuations?

So I posted a thread a little while ago wondering if I should start recording BBT and cervical mucus. The replies were very helpful, and I decided that I would try temping for a few months (since hubby and I recently decided that we will probably start TTC in [name_u]November[/name_u], yay!) since my cycles can be slightly irregular (though usually not by more than 2 days either way).

When I first started, I was getting crazily fluctuating numbers, as in 97.3[36.3] one day and 96.2[35.7] the next. It was like that for the whole first week, but now for the past 8 days it hasn’t varied by more than 0.3 degrees. As far as I know, I haven’t done anything differently from the first week to the second. I haven’t been super meticulous about temping at exactly the same time every day, but it’s always in the 6:30-7:30 am range and right when I wake up.

Anyone have any clue what could have been going on? Is it something that I should possibly be concerned about, or is it just something to say “hey, that was weird” about and forget?

Thanks!

So I don’t really have an answer for you at all, but I remember that the app I use–Fertility [name_m]Friend[/name_m]–has a whole tutorial that addresses questions exactly like this. I’m not a shill for them, I promise. So I’d recommend you check it out.

Thanks, daisy! It said that it’s not unusual for temps to fluctuate during menstruation, and as I was on my period for most of my first week temping, I’m assuming that’s what happened.
