It seems that nameberry is bizarrely vulnerable to glitches.
Why for example did it list virtually every name as having 0 per cent popularity then it suddenly began to list almost every name as having risen in popularity 1000%?
I haven’t noticed that but i have noticed that whenever I click on an unusual name (like say, [name_f]Destinee[/name_f]) it says “up 1000%” in popularity. I think if it’s a page that’s not clicked on often, the popularity goes up to 1000.
It is an odd system though, I’d prefer something more like Babycenter, where they take into account how many users actually named their babies one of the names to create a top 100+ rather than what names are clicked on most frequently.
I thought that was it too, because how often do people click on [name_m]Cadwallader[/name_m], etc.
But I typed in [name_m]Lewis[/name_m], [name_m]Joe[/name_m], and [name_f]Mary[/name_f], all of which seem more clickable, and they all say up 1000% in popularity.
A strange thing indeed. My latest theory is that maybe nameberry is embracing the self-esteem a trophy for everyone way of thinking so as no name gets its feelings hurt, and everyone scores an up 1000% award.
