I think most people know that [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is a really common middle name, and I get why, because it sounds so pretty with almost every name! But I just noticed that “rose” is also the past tense of “to rise.” So now it’s kind of been ruined for me! Whenever I hear of someone named, say, “[name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]” I think “[name_f]Lily[/name_f] rose from her seat.” Additionally when that person’s first name ends in “a” I think “arose” so “[name_f]Clarabella[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]” becomes “[name_f]Clarabelle[/name_f] arose” in my head. Is this just me? Does anyone get what I’m saying? Thanks!
Hahahahaha… I’ve never noticed that before but I’m sure I’m never going to be able to unheard it again.
Guess you’ll need to use [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] or [name_f]Roslyn[/name_f] should you ever want a [name_f]Rose[/name_f] name in the middle.
I never quite thought of it that way, but now that you mention it…how about [name_f]Rose[/name_f] as a first name?
Please go on spreading this idea, there are already one million girls to many with the middle name [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
Crap. It just ruined it for me. Lol
Ha. I had actually never made that connection–the name felt like a separate entity until you brought it up! Now I can’t unsee it either. Oh well, [name_f]Rose[/name_f] wasn’t on my list anyway.
[name_f]My[/name_f] first name is [name_f]Rose[/name_f], which is exponentially less common than having [name_f]Rose[/name_f] for a middle name. One of my best friends is named [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and her mother occasionally calls her [name_f]Rose[/name_f] which always startles me
I see what you mean about the rose as the past tense of rise thing, that is pretty odd. I guess in my case it would be [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] rose or [name_f]Rose[/name_f] rose, both of which sound pretty strange… [name_f]My[/name_f] middle name is Hardwick though, so no chance of that happening unless I’m actually rising!
