Our 2nd daughter was born [name_f]Monday[/name_f] after another complicated pregnancy. She is in the NICU and doing well so far, prayers for continued growth and health.
Her name is [name_f]Helen[/name_f] [name_f]Sue[/name_f] and it realllllly came down to the wire. [name_f]Helen[/name_f] is an honor name for my matemal grandmother, [name_f]Sue[/name_f] was the name my paternal grandmother went by. [name_f]Sue[/name_f] is also the middle name of my mother in law and its roots mean [name_f]Lily[/name_f], who is my husband’s grandma. So just a name stuffed full of familial connections.
[name_f]Helen[/name_f] means "light’ or “bright”, very similar to big sister [name_f]Clara[/name_f] (“clear” or “bright”) and I love the idea of our girls out in the world bringing light to darkness with one another by their side.
I’ve mostly been calling her [name_f]Nell[/name_f]. She’s absolutely gorgeous.
Congratulations on your daughter and surviving such a difficult pregnancy. [name_f]Helen[/name_f] [name_f]Sue[/name_f] is a classic and lovely name, and it’s gorgeous with nickname [name_f]Nell[/name_f] and combined with sister [name_f]Clara[/name_f]. I’ll be keeping you and your family in my prayers.
Oh, I love seeing both [name_f]Helen[/name_f] and [name_f]Sue[/name_f] used, and I adore the nickname [name_f]Nell[/name_f]! Congratulations and wishing both of you strength and a speedy recovery.
