We welcomed our second daughter, [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f], on her big sister, [name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Nathalie[/name_f]'s, 5th birthday: [name_u]August[/name_u] 18th. Like [name_f]Margot[/name_f], we chose [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]'s first name because we loved the sound of it and liked that it was not too popular but not unheard of. [name_f]Marie[/name_f] is to honor my [name_f]MIL[/name_f], [name_f]Maureen[/name_f], and is also a middle name shared by my mother, sister, and I. We love pairing common middles that honor family with unique firsts.
Believe it or not, I’ve already had more trouble with people trying to spell/pronounce [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]'s name than [name_f]Margot[/name_f]‘s, but we’re thrilled with both our girls’ names.
Congratulations! [name_f]Delphine[/name_f], nn [name_f]Delphi[/name_f], is one of my top guilty pleasure names! Had it fit our theme we would have used it for one of our girls in a heartbeat. It’s fits wonderfully with [name_f]Margot[/name_f]. [name_f]Do[/name_f] your girls have nn’s or do they just go by their full names?
[name_u]Love[/name_u] it! [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] is one of my top 5 names (it would be hard for me decide between it and [name_f]Nadine[/name_f] if I had a little girl today)!
Congrats to you on the safe arrival of your second daughter, [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f]. [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]? C’est magnifique!
Congratulations, [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] is beautiful!! I have a friend who also has two daughters born on the same day ([name_f]Mya[/name_f] and [name_f]Hana[/name_f]), exactly three years apart.
I loooooove [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] and wanted it for my oldest daughter [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f] but dh vetoed it because in his language, [name_m]German[/name_m], it means dolphin. I still think it’s gorgeous though!
Thanks everyone! To answer one poster’s question, no the girls don’t really have nicknames. I love saying their full names, but I think both names have some good nickname possibilities if they ever want one. Some people call [name_f]Margot[/name_f] “Marg” (which I hate haha) and her grandfather called her “Gogo” as a baby.
