The only name on your list I would even consider for a girl would be the unisex [name]Quinn[/name]. Most of the names on your list aren’t the slightest bit “gender-neutral” in my opinion. They’re just boys names.

Are you into girls’ names with boyish nicknames?

[name]Charlotte[/name] --> [name]Charlie[/name]
[name]Frances[/name] --> [name]Frankie[/name]
[name]Frederica[/name] --> [name]Freddie[/name]
[name]Henrietta[/name] --> [name]Hank[/name] or [name]Hal[/name]
[name]Jemima[/name] --> [name]Jamie[/name]
[name]Georgiana[/name] --> [name]Georgie[/name]

Or do you want truly gender neutral names, like:

[name]Jordan[/name]
[name]Taylor[/name]
[name]Jessie[/name]
[name]Landry[/name]
[name]Sidney[/name]
[name]Rowan[/name]
[name]River[/name]
[name]Tatum[/name]
[name]Jamie[/name]
[name]Avery[/name]
[name]Sawyer[/name]
[name]Reese[/name]
[name]Kendall[/name]
[name]Regan[/name]
[name]Morgan[/name]
[name]Blake[/name]

Also, most place names seem gender neutral:

[name]Brooklyn[/name]
[name]London[/name]
etc.

Personally I like the first category the best, since it gives the most flexibility, and the nicknames are just cute on a girl.

[name]Quinn[/name] or [name]Harper[/name] are the only two names I would use on a girl-baby.

What about something like [name]Frances[/name] nn [name]Frankie[/name] or something?

[name]Quinn[/name] is the only one I like.

[name]Harper[/name] is feminine to me, but I’m not very fond of it.

I voted for [name]Harper[/name] that and [name]Quinn[/name] are the only two really uni-sex names you have listed above. (I understand that you might prefer more masculine names for girls than feminine ones but I’d avoid giving me daughter a true boy’s names. - My mom wanted to give me a fairly neutral name and still wishes she had chooses something more girlie in the end.)

I like peapodm’s suggestion of female names with boyish nn’s. There are some great female names that are really just extensions of guy names like,
[name]Phillipa[/name] ([name]Pip[/name], Pipa), [name]Roberta[/name] ([name]Bobbie[/name]), [name]Thomasina[/name] ([name]Tommy[/name]), [name]Charlotte[/name] ([name]Charlie[/name], [name]Chuck[/name]), [name]Harriet[/name]/[name]Henrietta[/name] ([name]Harry[/name], [name]Henri[/name]), [name]Albertine[/name] ([name]Al[/name], [name]Ali[/name]), [name]Fredericka[/name] ([name]Freddy[/name], [name]Ricky[/name]), [name]Adriana[/name]/[name]Adrienne[/name], [name]Paulina[/name] ([name]Paul[/name]), [name]Wilhelmina[/name] ([name]Minna[/name], [name]Will[/name], [name]Willa[/name]), [name]Alexandra[/name] ([name]Alex[/name]), [name]Josephine[/name] ([name]Joe[/name], [name]Joey[/name]).

[name]Hi[/name]! Congratulations on your little girl :slight_smile: I love strong, more masculine names for girls. My sister was named [name]Ryan[/name] back in 1980 and I thought that was such a cool thing to do. When I had a girl, we named her [name]Dylan[/name] and paired it with the really classic ultra-feminine [name]Elizabeth[/name] as a middle name and it fit our little beauty perfectly. It took me a few days of getting to know her after she was born before I could be certain it was a real fit for her. She’s only grown into it more perfectly. So [name]Bravo[/name] to you for reaching outside the box! I really liked every name on your list and have a couple of them on mine for [name]Dylan[/name]'s new sibling! Congrats again and warmest wishes…

[name]Quinn[/name] is my favorite on your list :slight_smile:

Others I like…
[name]Piper[/name]
[name]Hadley[/name]
[name]Sage[/name]
[name]Shea[/name] ([name]LOVE[/name] [name]Shea[/name]!)
[name]Reese[/name]

I detest boys names on girls. Sorry. I agree that [name]Quinn[/name] and [name]Harper[/name] are the only ones that fit the bill of being unisex. I would recommend:

[name]Avery[/name]
[name]Morgan[/name]

I dont quite understand why some would come onto this post about boy names for girls, just to say they detest my choices. Well, golly gee, your opinion TOTALLY makes me change my mind from naming my daughter [name]Charlie[/name] instead to [name]Sarah[/name]! Not really.
I appreciate everyones opinion but geez really “I detest the names you chose for your child”?
Thank you to those who gave constructive criticism instead of being rude little monkeys lol
Right now we are leaning more towards the 3 no one liked lol which makes me even happier :wink:

Right now we are leaning more towards the 3 no one liked lol which makes me even happier :wink: - those being [name]Ryann[/name], [name]Charlie[/name] and [name]Riley[/name] :wink:

Those being [name]Ryann[/name], [name]Charlie[/name] and [name]Riley[/name] :wink: haha

My favorite from your list is [name]Quinn[/name]. Not crazy about any of the other names though their fine (not a fan of [name]Ronnie[/name] though, maybe [name]Ronan[/name] nn [name]Ronnie[/name]? or the similar [name]Johnnie[/name]?)

Some you may consider:

[name]Dylan[/name]
[name]Micah[/name]
[name]Kai[/name]/[name]Cai[/name]
[name]Drew[/name]
[name]Noa[/name]
[name]Jace[/name]
[name]Jonah[/name]
[name]Ollie[/name]
[name]August[/name]
[name]Kerr[/name]
[name]Lennon[/name]/[name]Lennox[/name]

Congrats on the little girl!

I think the problem I have with these names is that when we were on our honeymoon we actually met a couple and guess what, both of their names were [name]Ryan[/name]! That is just so confusing and I don’t know if I could ever date someone who had the same name as me! Another big deal was [name]Taylor[/name] Swift and [name]Taylor[/name] Lautner, thank goodness that didn’t last!

To me [name]Harper[/name] and [name]Quinn[/name] would be the best options because I think there are fewer males with those names.

[name]Ronnie[/name] also makes me think of The Last Song ([name]Miley[/name] [name]Cyrus[/name]), since the character’s name is [name]Ronnie[/name] (well nickname, they mention once that her full name is [name]Veronica[/name])

I like [name]Riley[/name] best. I think it could work on a girl. [name]Charlie[/name] is cute, too. I’m not the biggest fan of [name]Harper[/name], [name]Ryan[/name] and [name]Ronnie[/name], neutral on [name]Quinn[/name].

My favorite gender-neutral names are [name]Joss[/name], [name]Jamie[/name], [name]Rowan[/name] and [name]Adair[/name].

I really like [name]Quinn[/name]. Up until recently I would have said; “[name]Ryan[/name] on a GIRL…NEVER!!!”, but then I met a little girl named [name]Ryan[/name], and it just…worked! She was sweet, pretty, and spunky, and it really really fit her.

I also know several little Rileys (and one [name]Rylie[/name], my cousin’s daughter) who are girls, and though it’s not my absolute favourite name (for boys or for girls), I do think it’s now a gender-neutral name - works for either. I also know 2 female Charlies, but I believe that at least one of them is a short form for [name]Charlotte[/name].

Good luck deciding on a name you [name]LOVE[/name]…despite what others may think…and congratulations on your upcoming little girl :slight_smile:

I’ve known girl [name]Riley[/name]'s (with many spellings), [name]Charlie[/name]'s and [name]Ryan[/name]'s. I never once thought their names didn’t suit them! Spunky choices that definitely work for some people!

Boyish names on girls are not my thing. But I do like [name]Quinn[/name].

Detest is such a strong word!
They are just not my thing, but I don’t dislike them all! I hope people don’t think I am rude when I say that.
I do prefer full names with boyish nicknames so they can chose which name they prefer.
[name]Charlotte[/name] - nn [name]Charlie[/name] for example. But that’s just me.
Obviously you will go with the one you love regardless of what we think.
Good for you! Good luck! :slight_smile:

I’ve always thought [name]Charlie[/name] was cute on girls. I know several [name]Riley[/name]/[name]Rylee[/name]'s, so if popularity is a factor, I wouldn’t go with that one.

I’ve met girls with the following boyish names, in case you’re looking for more options:

[name]Jordyn[/name]
[name]James[/name]/[name]Jamie[/name]
[name]Camryn[/name]
[name]Elliot[/name]
[name]Bennet[/name]
[name]Ryan[/name]
[name]Hayden[/name]
