I’m just loving this name right now. WDYT…?
I definitely see it’s charm! (Is there a [name_u]Wendell[/name_u] character on a tv show or in a movie right now? I feel like there is…) It’s definitely a sort of “geek-chic” name to me–maybe hipster is the term I’m looking for? It could be tough for some boys to wear, but I could also see it being quite cool on the right guy.
When I hear [name_u]Wendell[/name_u] it instantly makes me think of [name_m]Prince[/name_m] [name_u]Wendell[/name_u], who was turned into a dog in a mini series called the Tenth Kingdom. Which is a good association for me!
There really is something charming about this name. It has never crossed my mind before, but now I think I like it. [name_f]My[/name_f] only concern would be kids calling him [name_f]Wendy[/name_f]. Wen is kind of nice though (similar to [name_u]Wynn[/name_u]).
I think one of the interns on Bones is called [name_u]Wendell[/name_u], it has a geeky vintage feel to it- maybe a little hipster. I like the name and it would be cool to meet a [name_u]Wendell[/name_u], it’s just not my own personal style.
I had a classmate named [name_u]Wendell[/name_u]; major geek but I nice boy. He mostly went by his full name but occasional he was called Wen. The only issue was that sometimes people would pronounce it as ‘wen-[name_u]DELL[/name_u]’ instead of ‘wen-del’
It’s still a bit too clunky to my ears, but the right guy could pull it off.
Agreed…
I think it would make a nice middle name.
Bones! I first heard [name_u]Wendell[/name_u] on the TV show and loved it. I still like it, but not for myself.
