Although I love the name [name_f]Verity[/name_f], I think [name_f]Annika[/name_f] and [name_f]Elsbeth[/name_f] just sound gorgeous together! So I voted [name_f]Elsbeth[/name_f] :slight_smile:

[name_f]Elsbeth[/name_f] has my vote too, although [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] is preferred for me personally.

[name_f]Elsbeth[/name_f] sounds like [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] and I find it lispy. I really like [name_f]Verity[/name_f] so this would be my choice.

I actually agree that I like [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] better than [name_f]Elsbeth[/name_f] (although I like [name_f]Elsbeth[/name_f] too!) - it’s just that DH and I are very [name_m]German[/name_m] in ancestry and not Scottish and I feel that [name_f]Elsbeth[/name_f] reflects that [name_m]German[/name_m] heritage much more strongly.

[name_f]Annika[/name_f] and [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f] are far too similar, phonetically.

[name_f]Verity[/name_f] has the same crisp Continental flair, though it’s quite distinct from [name_f]Annika[/name_f]. I think the two dovetail perfectly.

I don’t care for [name_f]Elsbeth[/name_f] or [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] at all as a sister to [name_f]Annika[/name_f]. [name_f]Annika[/name_f] is a very slick, cool, mature name. [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] is folksy, unpretentious and little-girl. And in the US, either [name_f]Elsbeth[/name_f] or the more common [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] are virtually unknown and will look to many like misspellings or strange contractions.

I don’t think my vote worked but I picked [name_f]Verity[/name_f]. I like it because the first-ever producer of [name_m]Doctor[/name_m] Who was called [name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_m]Lambert[/name_m] :D.
