We're expecting #2! need name ideas...

Our daughter’s name is [name]Poppy[/name] [name]Anne[/name] and we just found out that we are expecting another baby!! i know you are the people i need to turn to for a name for [name]Poppy[/name]'s little brother or sister

[name]Mabel[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Maeve[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]

[name]Ronan[/name] Klos
[name]Jack[/name] Isen
(Klos is a family name that we may use for the MN and Isen as in Isengard from lord of the rings - we are a big literary family!)

can you add to my list??

[name]Love[/name] [name]Mabel[/name] [name]Jane[/name] with [name]Poppy[/name] [name]Anne[/name] perfection! I also love [name]Maeve[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] but I think [name]Mabel[/name] [name]Jane[/name] is just slightly better :).

I confess I didn’t even look at your boy choices… I will go back and look

Good [name]Luck[/name]

[name]Love[/name] [name]Jack[/name]!

For the boys [name]Ronan[/name]

but I can’t vote for either of the girls names, [name]Maeve[/name] is too much like mauve and against [name]Poppy[/name] (red) it doesn’t work.

I would much rather [name]Belle[/name] as a sister for [name]Poppy[/name].

I think [name]Mabel[/name] [name]Jane[/name] is lovely and it would really complement her sisters name [name]Poppy[/name] [name]Anne[/name]

Other suggestion for a girl:

I love the name [name]Ronan[/name] Klos and think this would go very well with [name]Poppy[/name] [name]Anne[/name]

Other suggestion for boy:
[name]Bryn[/name] Klos
[name]Dylan[/name] Klos
[name]Jamie[/name] Klos
[name]Oscar[/name] Klos
[name]Liam[/name] Klos

[name]Charlie[/name] Isen
[name]Joshua[/name] Isen

[name]Mabel[/name] [name]Jane[/name] would fit nicely with [name]Poppy[/name] [name]Anne[/name].If the baby is a boy I would suggest [name]Ronan[/name] Klos.

Other names you might be interested in for girls:

[name]Mae[/name] or spelled [name]May[/name]

thanks everyone for the ideas! we’re constantly going back to the drawing board for girl names… sigh! wish i had an over abundance of boy name ideas right now too :frowning:

[name]Hi[/name], there!

I don’t know if I love either of your girl names with [name]Poppy[/name], honestly. Sorry! They don’t seem to have the same fun, light, playful feel that [name]Poppy[/name] does…

I like [name]Poppy[/name] with [name]Ayla[/name], [name]Becca[/name], [name]Cora[/name], [name]Daphne[/name], [name]Emma[/name], [name]Flora[/name], [name]Georgia[/name], [name]Hannah[/name], [name]Iris[/name], [name]Jessa[/name], [name]Lola[/name], [name]Maura[/name], [name]Nora[/name], [name]Risa[/name], and [name]Stella[/name]*.

[name]Cora[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Flora[/name] [name]Maeve[/name]
[name]Iris[/name] [name]Claire[/name]
[name]Jessa[/name] [name]Rose[/name]
[name]Stella[/name] [name]Grace[/name]

For a boy, what about [name]Archer[/name], [name]Bennett[/name], [name]Conrad[/name], [name]Declan[/name], [name]Emmett[/name], [name]Felix[/name], [name]Graham[/name], [name]Hugo[/name], [name]Isaac[/name], [name]Jonas[/name], [name]Landon[/name], [name]Maxwell[/name], [name]Nolan[/name], [name]Oscar[/name], [name]Russell[/name], [name]Simon[/name], and [name]Thomas[/name].

[name]Bennett[/name] Klos
[name]Declan[/name] [name]James[/name]
[name]Felix[/name] [name]John[/name]
[name]Graham[/name] [name]Hans[/name]
[name]Maxwell[/name] [name]Luke[/name]
[name]Simon[/name] Klos

I agree that [name]Poppy[/name] has a fun upbeat spirit. It goes well with [name]Cora[/name] or maybe [name]Daphne[/name]. A fun, short, upbeat boys name could be [name]Max[/name].

[name]Poppy[/name] is so breezy and fresh, I love it. The fact that [name]Mabel[/name] was my great grandmother’s name makes it sound a bit fusty in comparison with [name]Poppy[/name], to me. Maybe a vintage name that has more of a youthful ring to it? I think some of these have already been listed, but I like:

[name]Calla[/name] (too floral with [name]Poppy[/name]?)
[name]Faye[/name] (or [name]Fae[/name] for a more whimsical feel… love this for a mn)

I like [name]Ronan[/name] Klos. I also think mn Isen would be a great way to use a cool fantasy name without being too indulgent (something I struggle with a little… I’m wanting to suggest [name]Rohan[/name] as an alternative to [name]Ronan[/name], and [name]Arwen[/name], [name]Eowyn[/name], Eilonwy/Eilo as mns for a girl… trying to reign in my nerdiness :D)

Thinking about it more, I am probably just biased against [name]Mabel[/name] because of my great grandmother. I guess it falls into the hip, so-old-its-young category, and I bet it would work for your little girl

I like [name]Mabel[/name] [name]Jane[/name], because it really matches nicely with [name]Poppy[/name] [name]Anne[/name], both the type of name, as well as number of syllables. I do not think [name]Maeve[/name] and [name]Poppy[/name] sound like sisters, and in my opinion, [name]Ronan[/name] does not really sound like he is in the same family as [name]Poppy[/name].
In addition to [name]Mabel[/name] [name]Jane[/name], I like:
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Molly[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Sadie[/name] [name]Jane[/name]

some good boy names suggestions here! we are still totally stuck there…jack is the only one that is kind of sticking. kind of.

do you think for a girl [name]Elsie[/name] works? Is it weird that both [name]Poppy[/name] and [name]Elsie[/name] end in “long E” but with different spellings to get there?

[name]Elsie[/name] feels to nickname-y to me, honestly. Some may argue that [name]Poppy[/name] is a nickname, too, for [name]Penelope[/name], but for me it is an established floral name. [name]Elsie[/name] is only a nickname for [name]Elisabeth[/name] in my mind, and it has the same end sound as [name]Poppy[/name]. What about [name]Elsa[/name]? Or [name]Iris[/name]?

Good luck!

thanks for the feedback lemon! i, too, am a little unsettled that when you look up the meaning of elsie, you get “a form of elizabeth” elsa is pretty though!
