We’re expecting boy #3 in [name]July[/name] and I can’t find a name that I love. All the boys in the family do/will have the innitials JDS. DH is [name]John[/name] [name]Douglas[/name], DS1 is [name]Jensen[/name] [name]Dean[/name], DS2 is [name]Jeter[/name](like [name]Derek[/name] [name]Jeter[/name], the baseball dude) [name]Dawson[/name]. As you can tell we like “different” names. Here are the names we are considering and the reasons i’m not completely sold on them…
[name]Jameson[/name] - My favorite but wonder if it’s too close to [name]Jensen[/name]? Maybe too common?
[name]Jaxon[/name] - [name]Love[/name] the nn [name]Jax[/name] but hate that it’s so popular and it is kind of close to [name]Jensen[/name].
[name]Jones[/name] - Like that it is so unusual but don’t really care for how it would sound in everyday use. Maybe because it’s only 1 syllable?
[name]Jase[/name] - I dont like that it’s not a surname like the other boy’s and it is only 1 syllable like [name]Jones[/name] so I don’t know. I like it tho.
What do YOU think? I’ve read every J list on every website and can’t find any “new” names. Is there a J name that you have heard and thought “I haven’t heard that before”? What is it?
I have a secret love for [name]Jaxon[/name] because I really like the nn [name]Jax[/name].
I don’t know if you’ll like these, but these are some J names that I’m loving recently…
[name]Jacoby[/name]
[name]Judd[/name]
[name]Jethro[/name] (maybe too close to [name]Jeter[/name])
[name]Jasper[/name]
[name]Jameson[/name] is too close to [name]Jensen[/name].
[name]Jaxon[/name] is popular
[name]Jones[/name] is too surnamey
[name]Jase[/name] is nice
suggestions:
[name]Jagger[/name]
Jakoby
[name]Jarvis[/name]
[name]Jefferson[/name] ( a ‘son’ name that is not too close to [name]Jensen[/name])
[name]Journey[/name]
[name]Jesper[/name]
[name]Jarrell[/name]
[name]Judd[/name]
[name]Jorgan[/name]
[name]Jarret[/name]
You know, it’s funny, right after I read this post, I went to another website and saw an ad for something about the Jetsons … [name]Jetson[/name]? Too close to [name]Jensen[/name] probably. Also, when I saw [name]Jones[/name], it reminded me of [name]Jacoby[/name] (ja-COH-bee) (because [name]Jacoby[/name] [name]Jones[/name] is a football player). That would fit in nicely with your sons’ names.
Here are some I found, though I’m sure you’ve already seen them. (Sorry for repeats, I’ve been dilly-dallying and I’m sure someone else has posted an answer by now.)
[name]Jabari[/name]
[name]Jaxton[/name] (gets you [name]Jax[/name], but differentiates from [name]Jensen[/name])
[name]Jericho[/name] (I actually really love this with your sons’ names!)
[name]Janus[/name]
Jaggar (too “cool”?)
[name]Joah[/name] (gets you the popular sound of [name]Noah[/name] with a different name)
[name]Jupiter[/name]
Jango (though people might think you named him after the movie)
And of course, there is always the obvious: [name]Johnson[/name] – it’s a surname, like your other sons’ names and it works perfectly because his father’s name is [name]John[/name]. It’s definitely unusual as a first name.
[NAME]Jacoby[/NAME] - could use nn Jax.
[NAME]Jeremy[/NAME]
[NAME]Jeremiah[/NAME]
[NAME]Jonah[/NAME]/[NAME]Jonas[/NAME]
[NAME]Joss[/NAME] - similar to [NAME]Josh[/NAME], but different if [NAME]Joshua[/NAME]/[NAME]Josh[/NAME] is too plain for you
[NAME]Julius[/NAME]
[NAME]Jaron[/NAME]
[NAME]Jefferson[/NAME]
Sorry I just realised that you are completely set on a ‘j’ name… [name]Ajax[/name] doesn’t begin with ‘j’!!! Hmmmmmmm… I actually adore just [name]Jack[/name]… It’s so versatile!!! And [name]Jeronimo[/name] is a guilty pleasure if mine nn Nimo/mo/jerri/roni make it more user friendly! I like [name]Jamison[/name] too nn jimmy/sonny!
