Ok that’s it. I am throwing my hands up in the air and leaving this one to you all! I cannot for the life of me make any headway on choosing a name for this baby if she is a girl and with less than three months to go, I feel there is a time crunch beginning.
> Right now we have [name]West[/name], full name Manton [name]West[/name] [name]Bo[/name] (all family).
> If this new baby is a boy, he will be [name]Willoughby[/name] [name]Knox[/name] [name]Polk[/name] nn [name]Wills[/name] (again, all family).
I am open to ANYTHING, so if you were naming a little sister for [name]West[/name], what would her name be? I love the quirkiness of British combinations, but please do not be limited by those parameters. The only thing I ask is that [name]Elizabeth[/name] be in there somewhere, and that there be two middle names.
So tell me tell me what her name is!!! [name]West[/name] and…?
[name]Georgiana[/name] (pronounced the British way, Jor-jane-uh) [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Mae[/name] nn [name]Janie[/name], [name]Georgia[/name] or [name]Gia[/name]
[name]Iris[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Camille[/name] [name]Rose[/name] nn [name]Libby[/name], Lizza, [name]Elle[/name], [name]Beth[/name], [name]Eliza[/name] or [name]Betsy[/name]!
[name]Margot[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Winter[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]June[/name] nn [name]Lottie[/name]
[name]Tabitha[/name] [name]Mary[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Catherine[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Ivy[/name] nn [name]Kit[/name] or [name]Kitty[/name]
[name]Mabel[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Eve[/name] nn [name]Mae[/name]
[name]Martha[/name] [name]Alice[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Adelaide[/name] [name]Zara[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]
Since you have [name]West[/name] and a potential [name]Willoughby[/name] (cool names by the way!), maybe you want to continue the W theme if it’s a girl?
Maybe you won’t like one particularly combo (since I have no idea what your naming style is for girls!) but if one or two of the names stand out to you it could give you a starting point and maybe I can try to put more combos together when I know your style?
Ljandri - I had just been considering throwing [name]Winter[/name] in there somewhere (esp. considering the due date is [name]January[/name]) so I love seeing you suggest this! Out of your wonderful list, my favorites are [name]Georgiana[/name]/[name]Georgia[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name] nn [name]Lottie[/name], and [name]Winter[/name]. One of my best friend’s daughter’s is [name]Georgia[/name] though, which kind of throws it out.
My style is so off the wall. Names I have considered so far are [name]Victoria[/name] nn [name]Plum[/name], [name]Persephone[/name] nn [name]Pepper[/name] (DH loves [name]Penelope[/name] nn [name]Pepper[/name], and I adore [name]Pepper[/name], but can’t get on board with [name]Penelope[/name] for some reason), Mazarine, [name]Araminta[/name], [name]Magnolia[/name] ([name]Moxie[/name]?), [name]Presley[/name], [name]Coco[/name], [name]Lavender[/name], Anouke, [name]Trixie[/name]…I don’t think there is any sense of rhyme or reason to the names I lean towards. A name I am stuck on is [name]Talullah[/name] [name]Trixie[/name] [name]Alice[/name], but there is no room for [name]Elizabeth[/name]! (I am set on [name]Elizabeth[/name] as she would be a 4th generation which I think is very special. I guess she could have three middle names ha!)
Asophie1 - You nailed it with [name]Talullah[/name]! Now if only I could convince my husband. [name]Luella[/name] is also beautiful!
These are just my first impressions but I am going to keep looking over your suggestions. Thank you thank you!
[name]West[/name] and [name]Lottie[/name], [name]West[/name] and [name]Elle[/name], [name]West[/name] and [name]Tallulah[/name], [name]West[/name] and [name]Luella[/name], [name]West[/name] and [name]Pepper[/name], [name]West[/name] and [name]Plum[/name]…just thinking…seeing them like this helps
[name]Victoria[/name], [name]Magnolia[/name] and [name]Araminta[/name] are particularly cute! I also love [name]Trixie[/name] as a nn for [name]Beatrix[/name] or [name]Bellatrix[/name]!
Is [name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] nn [name]Trixie[/name] too much?! Lol.
[name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Alice[/name] would be lovely if you could give up [name]Trixie[/name]? Or [name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Trixie[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]?
Would you consider other variations of [name]Elizabeth[/name] like [name]Elspeth[/name] or [name]Eliza[/name] or would you prefer it to be [name]Elizabeth[/name]? I can definitely understand wanting to use [name]Elizabeth[/name], it’d be so lovely to be a fourth generation!
“Is [name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] nn [name]Trixie[/name] too much?!” NO! That is gorgeous! I love [name]Beatrix[/name] and [name]Tallulah[/name] both. Or [name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] nn [name]Lulu[/name] or [name]Lula[/name]?
I also love [name]Winter[/name], [name]Araminta[/name], [name]Victoria[/name] nn [name]Plum[/name] (you’ve suggested this to me before, actually - love it!), [name]Magnolia[/name] (love [name]Moxie[/name] for a nn and also love [name]Nola[/name] or [name]Noli[/name]). [name]Just[/name] had to put in my two cents even though it’s not much to add!
I am so glad you like [name]Tallulah[/name]. I [name]LOVE[/name] the name but i definitely don’t have the guts to use it. [name]Love[/name] the nickname potential of it though with [name]Lula[/name], [name]Talia[/name], maybe even [name]Lolly[/name] (similar to [name]Lottie[/name]). I think its perfect for you! What does your husband think of it…have you ever mentioned it to him before?
[name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Trixie[/name] [name]Alice[/name] is pretty, but it seems a little off to me. What about [name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Trixie[/name]? Or [name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name], [name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Bea[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name], [name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Birdie[/name] (would you use [name]Birdie[/name] as an alternative to [name]Elizabeth[/name], as it is a common nickname for her?), [name]Talullah[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Birdie[/name], [name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Winter[/name] [name]Birdie[/name], [name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Pepper[/name] [name]Birdie[/name], [name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Birdie[/name] [name]Lavender[/name], [name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Birdie[/name] [name]Alice[/name].
I also [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Luella[/name]/[name]Louella[/name] for you. It’s similar to [name]Tallulah[/name], but it might be an easier name for your husband to digest. Her nicknames could be [name]Lou[/name], [name]Lola[/name], [name]Ella[/name], [name]Elle[/name], [name]Lula[/name] and so on. [name]How[/name] about [name]Louella[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name] [name]Birdie[/name], [name]Luella[/name] [name]Birdie[/name] [name]Alice[/name], [name]Luella[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Winter[/name], [name]Luella[/name] [name]Winter[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name], [name]Luella[/name] [name]Alice[/name] [name]Trixie[/name], and sooo many more options.
You are well on your way to finding the perfect name for [name]West[/name]'s sister. By the way, i [name]ADORE[/name] [name]Willoughby[/name] and the nickname [name]Wills[/name] - well done!
I think [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Trixie[/name] [name]Tallulah[/name] is my favorite, [name]Sheridan[/name]…
But, if you did want to continue the W nickname thing with [name]West[/name] (and possibly [name]Wills[/name]), you might like [name]Wendy[/name], [name]Winnie[/name], [name]Wynn[/name], or [name]Windy[/name], right? So, you could get [name]Wendy[/name] from [name]Gwendolyn[/name] or [name]Gwendolen[/name], [name]Winnie[/name] from [name]Winifred[/name] or [name]Edwina[/name], [name]Wynn[/name] from [name]Gwyneth[/name] and [name]Windy[/name] from, well, [name]Winsome[/name], maybe? Oh, and [name]Winn[/name], from [name]Winter[/name], as someone mentioned. Hm, not sure on [name]Windy[/name]. And, I just decided that sucks as a nickname, so maybe we should just count that out, yea? So:
I’m gonna stop and see if you even like this train of thought before continuing, okay? Is [name]Elizabeth[/name] Wilde [name]Sophronia[/name] just out of the picture now, or what?
My favourite is actually [name]Victoria[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Grey[/name] - it sounds so glamorous and kind of like a filmstar to me! The flow is awesome, it’s classic so your husband will like it and with the nn [name]Plum[/name] and the addition of [name]Grey[/name] it’s also very quirky.
I would also like [name]Araminta[/name] [name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] or [name]Araminta[/name] [name]Trixie[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]! Nn’s could be [name]Minty[/name] or [name]Ari[/name].
Yes [name]Lemon[/name] I love [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Trixie[/name] [name]Tallulah[/name], too, but huz is firmly against [name]Trixie[/name] in any way shape or form in the name so I think it’s safe to say [name]Trixie[/name] is now o-u-t for good. Doo. I actually love [name]Gwendolyn[/name], which got me thinking about G names, and I really like [name]Genevieve[/name] as well! Looking at the name combos that I keep going back to, the alliteration really gets me hooked. What about something like -
Ljandri, I also really like [name]Victoria[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Grey[/name] and I think [name]Araminta[/name] [name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] is beautiful! Adding that to the list for sure.
[name]Elizabeth[/name] Wilde [name]Sophronia[/name] is not out - the flow and overall sound is beeeeautiful - but it’s the [name]Birdie[/name] that just isn’t feeling right.
Short(ish) list:
[name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Alice[/name]
[name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name] - [name]Moxie[/name]
[name]Luella[/name] [name]Lavender[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] (here I think I like the alliteration more than the name, perhaps?)
[name]Victoria[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Grey[/name] - [name]Plum[/name]
[name]Persephone[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Alice[/name] - [name]Pepper[/name]
[name]Araminta[/name] [name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] - [name]Mintie[/name] (?)
[name]Elizabeth[/name] Wilde [name]Sophronia[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Grey[/name] / [name]Gwendolyn[/name] [name]Grey[/name] / [name]Gwyneth[/name] [name]Greyson[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]
I am going to think more on this alliteration thing as well and see what I can come up with
Okay, [name]Birdie[/name] isn’t right. [name]Do[/name] you need a cutesy nickname? Could she be [name]Libby[/name] or [name]Bess[/name]? [name]Elizabeth[/name] Wilde [name]Sophronia[/name] is so gorgeous!
Oh, if you used G alliteration, you could get [name]Gigi[/name] as well as [name]Wendy[/name] or whatnot! [name]Gwendolen[/name] Greyer [name]Elizabeth[/name] is cute, if you like Greyer. [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Gwendolen[/name] [name]Grey[/name] is actually the best - would you consider that?
I am for sure open to alternative nicknames other than [name]Birdie[/name] because EWS is so special! [name]Libby[/name] seems too common for me. Ljandri I hadn’t even thought of Busy! I will have to mull that one over!
And I do like [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Gwendolen[/name] [name]Grey[/name]…I think I prefer a Y in [name]Gwendolyn[/name] though…will have to think on this. I feel like I would have to give her a nn from day 1 with [name]Elizabeth[/name] in the first name spot, whereas if [name]Gwendolyn[/name] was first, she could be [name]Gwendolyn[/name]. I don’t want to call her [name]Elizabeth[/name].
I was just commenting on another post and [name]Emerson[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] came to mind. Too boring next to my other choices? [name]Emerson[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Grey[/name]?
I like [name]Emerson[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Grey[/name]! I like [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Emerson[/name] [name]Grey[/name] better, though, but both are nice with [name]West[/name]'s name.
If she were [name]Gwendolyn[/name] Whatever, would you call her [name]Gwendolyn[/name] or [name]Gwen[/name] or [name]Gigi[/name] or what?
As for [name]Elizabeth[/name], I second [name]Laura[/name]'s suggestion of “Busy,” like Busy [name]Phillips[/name], but I’ve heard of [name]Ibby[/name] being used historically for [name]Elizabeth[/name] as well. NB lists it as a nickname for [name]Isabel[/name], which makes sense, but [name]Elizabeth[/name] and [name]Isabel[/name] are variants, so I think it works - well, I know it works, because I’ve heard it done. [name]West[/name] and [name]Ibby[/name] is so cute! ([name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Gwendolyn[/name] [name]Grey[/name])
