What about Hazel?

What do you guys think of the name [name]Hazel[/name]?

Im afraid people wont say it [name]Hayzel[/name] but Haazel, as in the dutch ‘a’. Im kinda liking the name alot!
Does anyone know some history of the name?

[name]Hazel[/name] is spectacular. When said with the Dutch ‘a’ it reminds me of a Yiddishe name, and that’s not bad at all.

[name]Do[/name] you live in an area where people would be accustomed to using the Dutch ‘a’? Personally I can’t imagine any English-speaker mispronouncing [name]Hazel[/name].

Yes, i live in Belgium/[name]Holland[/name] so we only speak dutch.

Well, obviously you do. =). That answers my question! I think I always have the impression that everyone on NB is in an English-speaking country b/c I could never hope to be fluent enough to converse on a website in another language!

I like [name]Hazel[/name] (Hay-zel), too. I hope this doesn’t sound horribly ignorant, but is there a certain way you could spell it where people would know it’s not the Dutch “a”? I generally don’t agree with misspellings, but maybe in this case it would be ok.
