I know that right now [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] is going through a moment of great popularity, but I am really liking it. I was wondering about what associations or what you guys thought of when seeing or hearing this name. My kids are [name_m]Felix[/name_m] and [name_f]Eva[/name_f].
Also, my last name begins with the letter O, would it be too strange? It ends with -veetz.
I don’t think that you can go wrong with the name [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]! Although it is pretty common at the moment, I think that you have plenty of nickname options if you want to avoid how common it is. I really like that you have the option for the nickname [name_f]Liv[/name_f] which I think goes wonderfully with [name_m]Felix[/name_m] and [name_f]Eva[/name_f]! I don’t think that you should have any problem with your last name either!
I love the name [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] as well, but it’s too popular for me to use. I’m having the same problem (but not to the same extreme) with [name_f]Isabel[/name_f].
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f] is a great name, though the popularity would be a deal breaker for me personally. I can definitely see it going with your other kids’ names.
I don’t think it’s weird for first and last names to start with the same letter as long as the similarity ends there. [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] [name_m]Owens[/name_m]? Yes. [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]? No. Since you last name has a “v” sounds it might be too similar, but I wouldn’t be able to decide for sure without knowing what it is.
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f] is such a pretty name, and I am unsure if the popularity issues would affect my decision to use it.
I think that since [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] and [name_f]Eva[/name_f] are a bit similar, and your last name also starts with an O and contains a V, (in addition to popularity issues) that it may not be the best choice.
It’s a beautiful name. However, I personally would not use it due to the popularity. [name_m]Felix[/name_m] and [name_f]Eva[/name_f] aren’t as mainstream popular as [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]. [name_m]How[/name_m] about:
I think it’s a lovely name. I associate it with the actress [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] Hussey and the socialite [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] [name_m]Palermo[/name_m].
I love [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]. It’s in my top three. I would love to be able to use it in the future. It has so much meaning for me, and [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] is gorgeous. I really don’t care how popular it is. I think [name_m]Felix[/name_m], [name_f]Eva[/name_f], and [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] are fantastic together! I think it would probably be fine with your surname (I actually love O alliteration and have considered [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] [name_f]Odette[/name_f] and [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] [name_f]Opal[/name_f] in the past). If you love it, I would go for it.
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f] is a beautiful name, but for me the popularity would be a major turn-off. I don’t mind some popular names, but [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] is something else-it’s been top ten for years and whilst it’s true that it is popular for a reason, I personally would hate to go through life being referred to as [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] O because of having to share my name with so many other people. Obviously if the popularity really doesn’t bother you, then I would say go ahead, it’s a name that works well with your other children’s names and it is lovely.
However, my personal suggestion would be to look at variations of [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] and see if any of them appeal to you. That way you can get the beautiful feel of [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] without the popularity issues that come attached with it. My three favourite variations are [name_f]Olive[/name_f] (classic and way-underused in my opinion), [name_f]Olivet[/name_f] (pretty and different) and [name_f]Livia[/name_f] (Very similar to [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], but less popular, and also avoids the initial alliteration with your surname)
