It would be a bold choice for sure! I think [name_u]Philadelphia[/name_u] could grow on me. I have a great aunt named [name_f]Philomena[/name_f], which I think is kind of fantastic, and she went by [name_u]Phil[/name_u]. I also like [name_f]Philippa[/name_f].
[name_f]Philippa[/name_f], [name_f]Pippa[/name_f], [name_u]Piper[/name_u], [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_f]Philomela[/name_f]/ [name_f]Philomena[/name_f], [name_f]Delphina[/name_f]/ [name_f]Delphine[/name_f], anything but [name_u]Philadelphia[/name_u]! No offense meant, but it should remain a state, not a name.
It has a pretty sound, but it is too out there for me. But [name_f]Philomena[/name_f] is pretty close, and I’m starting to like it. So how about [name_f]Philomena[/name_f]?
I don’t love it. But I know it will grow on me like all place names seem to ([name_f]Alberta[/name_f], [name_f]Venice[/name_f], [name_u]Jersey[/name_u], [name_f]Alaska[/name_f], [name_f]Virginia[/name_f], [name_f]Vienna[/name_f]).
[name_f]Della[/name_f] or [name_f]Pippa[/name_f] would be cute.
I grew up in an old suburb of [name_u]Philly[/name_u]. There are some pretty great things about the city, but not enough to name a human after it, in my opinion. I always thought it would be a good name for a fish, though. I’m not really sure why.
As an American, it is just way too associated with the city for me. I do like the nicknames, though. I would go with something like [name_f]Phillipa[/name_f] or [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] instead of [name_u]Philadelphia[/name_u].
