What about Samantha?

I’m back with a whole new idea. You all were very helpful with my [name]Audrey[/name] [name]Israel[/name] dilemma yesterday. And we very much might go for it or another A name. But this morning it dawned on me… [name]Samantha[/name] [name]Israel[/name].

Our boy name is [name]Samuel[/name] and we love it. [name]Samantha[/name] has obviously had it’s day, but hasn’t that day passed and maybe not so common anymore? We like somewhat traditional names but not too common and usually with the “old is new again” feel. But it’s really a pretty name, and Hebrew which is good. And we’d instantly shorten it to [name]Sam[/name] so she’d never really be [name]Samantha[/name] unless she became a very girly girl and preferred it. It seems so ordinary, but at the same time, maybe not…

[name]Samantha[/name] [name]Israel[/name] is nice, but it does feel dated. What about [name]Samara[/name] [name]Israel[/name]? It has the same flow, same nickname options, and is more overtly Hebrew.

[name]Samantha[/name] is pretty. Yes, it might seem dated, but it’s still in the top 100. So maybe it’s day hasn’t passed…

I don’t think [name]Samantha[/name] is that uncommon now. In fact, I think I remember seeing it in the top 20 popular girls names or something like that. I was surprised, as I don’t hear about many little Samanthas anymore, but maybe it’s not as common in my area.

My husband liked it when we were expecting our son, and I was just lukewarm about it. I don’t mind it and can see the appeal.

I have always liked [name]Samantha[/name] and don’t find it dated at all! In fact it is still quite popular.

I really like it. It definitely has a so old it’s new again feel. I think [name]Sam[/name] is a great nickname, one that’s very in right now. [name]Samantha[/name] goes great with your last name.

I hope all works out.
