What about Tula?

My husband loves the name [name]Tula[/name]. I am not quite sold on it. MN would probably be [name]Elizabeth[/name]. What are your thoughts? Would [name]Charles[/name] make a good name for a brother? What would you name a sister?

I think [name]Tula[/name] is pretty, though the combination with [name]Elizabeth[/name] is a bit awkward for me. And [name]Charles[/name] is perfect for a brother! For a sister, just about any name with old-fashioned charm would work: [name]Clara[/name], [name]Cora[/name], [name]Evelyn[/name], [name]Hazel[/name], [name]Iris[/name], [name]Arden[/name], [name]Maisie[/name]… off the top of my head.

[name]How[/name] about [name]Tula[/name] as a nickname for [name]Tallulah[/name]? [name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] sounds great to me.

Well, I think [name]Tula[/name] would be the first name, I don’t think he would go for [name]Tallulah[/name]. So what middle name would you put with [name]Tula[/name]? Maybe [name]Tula[/name] [name]Nicole[/name]?

Hmm…[name]Tula[/name]… I knew I’d heard the name somewhere, and after looking it up on this site, realized that it was used in My Big Fat Greek Wedding. I’m not a fan of [name]Tula[/name], but I don’t vehemently dislike it, either. It’s too far out there for me, but that’s just me. I like that it reminds me of tulips, but I guess it just doesn’t do much for me. That said, if you love it, you should use it!

I totally agree with [name]Melissa[/name] about using names that have an old-fashioned charm to them, and she gave you some great ideas.

As for [name]Nicole[/name], I personally wouldn’t use it as a middle name, as in addition to not fitting in with [name]Tula[/name], it’s really dated (1980’s,), and seems like one of those names people pick when they can’t think of anything else to use in the middle. For me, [name]Nicole[/name] is a dated filler.

[name]Tula[/name] [name]Clementine[/name]

Best wishes to you!

I’m a big fan of [name]Tula[/name]! But I know one, so that always makes a name seem more accessible. I think it’s a sweet alternative to all the Ellas and Bellas and Stellas running around (and a little more spirited). I have to agree as far as using [name]Nicole[/name] though”it just doesn’t work in my opinion.

From [name]Jill[/name]'s combos I love:

[name]Tula[/name] [name]Simone[/name]
[name]Tula[/name] [name]Celeste[/name]
[name]Tula[/name] [name]Frances[/name]
[name]Tula[/name] [name]Grace[/name]

Some others you might like:

[name]Tula[/name] [name]Mae[/name]
[name]Tula[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Tula[/name] [name]Naomi[/name]
[name]Tula[/name] [name]Neve[/name]
[name]Tula[/name] [name]Sabine[/name]
[name]Tula[/name] [name]Wrenn[/name]

While, I too, would go with [name]Tallulah[/name] first, [name]Tula[/name] does kind of have a cheerful ring to it. I think that [name]Tula[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] is good togeather.
