What are names that you really love the 2nd

Okay, because of [name]Karen[/name]'s comment on The [name]Jill[/name] [name]Fan[/name] Club, I decided to make a new thread on this topic. Let’s keep it religion and politics free, because I for one hear enough about religion and politics from my mother and m-i-l.

So, here we go again -
What are names that you really love, but not for your own child?

I really love the name
[name]Clementine[/name], but I don’t really like its nn’s. Plus I’m sure my husband wouldn’t like it.
[name]Eleanor[/name], but guess what? My husband and daughter don’t like it.
[name]Lucy[/name], but it sounds bad with my last name.
[name]Miles[/name], but my husband doesn’t like it.
[name]Oliver[/name], but my husband doesn’t like it.

I think every name I like doesn’t receive the same approval rating from my husband. There are many that are off the table because of this.

[name]Lydia[/name] - My ultimate favorite! Anyone I have asked about it doesn’t like and says it’s an old lady name. I love it!
[name]Lyric[/name] - It gets mixed reviews. My husband hates it.
[name]Bodhi[/name] - (boy mn) The meaning behind the name is what has me sold. Again, I’m alone.
[name]Audie[/name] - For a boy or girl. I just love [name]Auden[/name] for a boy. I need to be more persuasive
[name]Quinn[/name] - (for a boy or girl) It was on the list for our first. It has since been used by a family member :frowning:
[name]Paulina[/name] - (nn [name]Pauli[/name]/[name]Paulie[/name]) Another name I just can’t sell.
[name]Sebastian[/name] - I was told it’s too long and doesn’t have any good nn.
[name]Devin[/name] - I write poetry. My husband knew a mean kid with this name.

I forgot one.

[name]Indigo[/name] - I absolutely love this name. I would probably use it as a middle name though.

These don’t go well with my last name:
[name]Shira[/name]
[name]Colette[/name]
[name]Marit[/name]
[name]Elliot[/name]
[name]Caleb[/name]

These my husband isn’t too keen on:
[name]Samantha[/name]
[name]Sefarina[/name] (this is honestly a bold move for me, too, but I really like it)
[name]Jude[/name] (he doesn’t like one-syllable names much–he says he wants to add “a-tron” or something to them to make them sound like full names)

Names I’m unsure I’m bold enough for:
[name]Andromeda[/name]
[name]Vega[/name]
[name]Elisheva[/name]
[name]Keturah[/name]
[name]Vashti[/name]
[name]Damien[/name]
[name]Orlando[/name]
[name]Emile[/name]
[name]Darius[/name]

Speaking of bold–names I think are awesome but are too tied to celebrities:
[name]Charlize[/name]
[name]Mariah[/name]
[name]Shakira[/name]

Great idea, [name]Susan[/name], my favorite cape-wearer in the world! My computer won’t let me cut and paste my other post on here for some reason, so I’ll try later. You’re the best!
