I’d love to hear your favorite flower and plant names! Uncommon but not too obscure is the style I’m looking for. I love [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] nn [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. What else can you think of?
(P.S. my last name is Bloom, everyone thinks I should use a flower name, would it be cute or mean to use for a child? )
And I love [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] & [name_f]Rose[/name_f]!
I don’t think it would be mean to give a flower name to a girl with the last name bloom. I think it could be cute with one a little less cutesy. Like [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] Bloom over [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] Bloom, if that makes sense.
[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] with nn [name_f]Maggie[/name_f]…I think [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] Bloom is cute and that way it isn’t too floral if you are concerned about that. I don’t mind the floral first and last name.
I also think [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] Bloom sounds really pretty. Again, still a floral connection but it feels a little less direct. Nickname could be [name_f]Rose[/name_f].
I agree with @elanorelle that a less cutesy flower name, especially one with non-flower nicknames ([name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] for example) could be very nice with your last name.
[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f]
[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]
[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f]
[name_f]Willow[/name_f]
[name_f]Jasmine[/name_f]
My personal fave is [name_f]Clover[/name_f], but I’m also partial to some of the more obscure ones like Larkspur, Vetiver, [name_f]Cicely[/name_f] and [name_u]Yarrow[/name_u].
I don’t think I’d use a floral name with the last name Bloom, however. It just strikes me as a bit gimmicky (sorry!)
Definitely missing a lot of my favourites but yeah this is a general idea, I really love this theme so if I was to write a full list it might as well be every feminine nature/flower name!
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] is one of my top favorites! (Though strangely I like it because of [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]'s [name_u]Baby[/name_u]…wonderful (albeit creepy) book!
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Lily[/name_f]
[name_f]Aster[/name_f]
[name_f]Zinnia[/name_f]
[name_f]Azalea[/name_f]
[name_f]Acacia[/name_f]
[name_f]Lavender[/name_f]
Thistle
[name_f]Cicely[/name_f]
Marjoram
[name_u]Sage[/name_u]
Caraway (more of a boy’s)
[name_f]Peach[/name_f], Nectar & [name_f]Honey[/name_f] (if those count lol, and only as middles)
Thank you, everyone! I definitely have a soft spot for [name_f]Holly[/name_f], [name_f]Fern[/name_f], [name_f]Cicely[/name_f], [name_f]Lilac[/name_f], and [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] (gp?). I also have a cousin named [name_f]Clover[/name_f]! I think she has a different last name though.
My favourite flowery name is [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]. But if you mean actual flower name and no variant, I’d say [name_f]Violet[/name_f].
Other favourites that come to my mind atm:
