What are your experiences with the name Brooks?

I am so curious to hear your experiences. Our little [name_u]Brooks[/name_u] is 3.5 months old now and I’m blown away by how many people hear his name and think he is a girl! [name_u]Or[/name_u] hear ‘[name_u]Brooke[/name_u]’. [name_u]Or[/name_u] have never heard of the name before, and assume girl. I never anticipated this when choosing his name as I have heard of a handful of little guys and grown men named [name_u]Brooks[/name_u] and in my head it was a boys name, not even really a unisex name. I’m worried I’ve set him up for a lifetime of being confused for a girl or having to constantly correct people. We live in the Midwest, if that makes a difference!

Every little [name_u]Brooks[/name_u] I’ve ever met have been boys, so this is a surprising thing to hear.

I’ve only ever known of [name_u]Brooks[/name_u] as a boy’s name

I’ve only met one [name_u]Brooks[/name_u]. Male. I love the name and definitely see it as masculine.

Never met a [name_u]Brooks[/name_u]. [name_f]My[/name_f] only association is [name_u]Brooks[/name_u] Brothers. I can definitely see mistaking it for [name_u]Brooke[/name_u]
