The grandmother name topic was the coolest idea - thanks, [name]Lilibet[/name]! Let’s do grandfathers too! What are your grandfathers’ names? (Great grandfathers, too, if you know)
My grandfather, [name]August[/name], reportedly hated his name and would sign his name A. B. H —n. When he was 87 yrs. old (and I was 14), I told him I’d name a son after him someday. (Back then, it did not occur to me that my future husband would have to agree.) As it turned out, my husband only approved a similar name, [name]Austin[/name]. ([name]Austin[/name] is a short form of [name]Augustine[/name] derived from [name]Augustus[/name].) I think my grandfather would be so amazed to know his name [name]August[/name] has had a comeback!
They’re are [name]Bernhardt[/name]'s around here to!
my grandfather’s were [name]Clifford[/name] [name]Martin[/name] and [name]John[/name] [name]Charles[/name].
My great-grandfather’s were [name]Simon[/name], [name]Noel[/name], [name]Martin[/name], and [name]Billy[/name]
grandfathers: [name]Archibald[/name] ([name]Archie[/name]) and [name]Alan[/name]
great-grandfathers: [name]Louis[/name] and [name]Jock[/name] (I assume first name was [name]John[/name] but always went by [name]Jock[/name])
