What are your middle names?

Are they important for you? [name]Do[/name] you like them? [name]Do[/name] you find your fn + mn a good combo? I’m just curious!
My middle - and my Jewish name at the same time - is [name]Yael[/name]. I love the sound but I’m not a big fan of this goat-meaning :). And unfortunately it doesn’t make a good combo with my first name at all - they are from different cultures, fn is feminine and classic, mn unisex and spunky. My own fn / mn set is a kind of compromise between my mum and dad rather than good sounding set.
And your?

My middle name is a boring filler middle. It does go well with my first, but I think filler middles sound good with everything.

My name is [name]Sarah[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]. My mom wanted [name]Catherine[/name] to be my first name, but my dad didn’t like it, so they compromised. They also picked it for my patron saint to be St. [name]Catherine[/name] of [name]Siena[/name]. I really genuinely love my name! [name]Sarah[/name] means lady princess, and I think it’s a pretty but solid name. The only thing I’m not too hip on about it is that it’s really popular in my age group (there are seven Sarahs in my grade alone and three of us are all [name]Sarah[/name] Catherines!). But overall I [name]LOVE[/name] my name-wouldn’t trade it ever!!

I love my first and middle they pair nicely together

My middlename is [name]Vanessa[/name], chosen just because my parents loved it. I love it, too. It’s beautiful, and it works well with my first name.

Mine is [name]Alexandra[/name], after my great-grandfather [name]Alexander[/name]. It goes well with my first name, which is currently in the top 10 (it wasn’t when I was born 25 years ago) and will NOT quit.

My middle name is a family name that my parents had intended to give to a boy. My dad wanted my middle name to be [name]Felecia[/name] for some unknown reason, and my mom countered with [name]Madison[/name] at the last minute and he went with it. I feel petty saying this, but I would probably like [name]Madison[/name] more if it wasn’t so overdone. [name]Madison[/name]'s popularity makes it feel a lot less special. It beats [name]Felecia[/name] though…

Mine is [name]Fay[/name], which goes well with my super Irish first name. I’m named after my Dad’s cousin who’s middle name was [name]Fay[/name] who died in her twenties and my Grandma’s maiden name, Fahey ([name]Fay[/name]-hee). I love my middle name and I would consider using it as a middle for one of my kids:)

Mine was [name]Rosemary[/name] growing up (after my granny). But when I got married I took my maiden name as my middle name.

My name is [name]Lea[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]. I think it flows well and I like both f the names! I don’t like how my sister has my mn and sometimes I wish I had a more unique name but overall I wouldn’t change it

My parents named me [name]Laura[/name] [name]Beth[/name], though mom toyed with [name]Laura[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] for a long time. She’s a big fan of the 2-1 pattern; my sisters are [name]Hannah[/name] [name]Ruth[/name] and [name]Mattie[/name] [name]Grace[/name].
[name]Mattie[/name]'s name is unusual in that she was named after my great-grandmother, who was simply “[name]Mattie[/name],” not [name]Matilda[/name] or [name]Madeline[/name] or anything else. Unfortunately, right around when [name]Mattie[/name] was born there was a slew of Madisons and Madelines, so she grew up with a ton of Maddies and Madys and Maddys.

When I married I legally took my maiden name ([name]Locke[/name]) as my middle.

All of my middle names are to honor family. I have a whole list of family names and I choose the ones that I think flow best with the first name I’ve chosen. Of course, I wouldn’t choose one I didn’t like. For example, I doubt I’ll use my grandfather’s name - [name]Donald[/name]. Hah…

My middle name is [name]Susanne[/name]. With an S not a Z, since my mother’s name is [name]Susan[/name]. My first and middle run into my last name. First name ends with and S, middle starts with an S, last name started with an S. Most people don’t like that, but I think it sounds fine.

@siobhanfb - I love your name! [name]Siobhan[/name] [name]Fay[/name]? Gorgeous!

It’s [name]Mary[/name], nothing exciting, but I love it.

My middle name is [name]Cailyn[/name] and its just a name my mom liked and felt sounded good with [name]Baylie[/name].

Mine is [name]Michelle[/name] after my 2nd aunt. It’s also my mom’s middle name. I think it pairs nicely with [name]Kaylie[/name] and it’s not [name]Marie[/name] or [name]Grace[/name] so I’m content with it.

My middle name is [name]Sarah[/name] which was a family name and I really like it paired with [name]Cassandra[/name].

My middle name is [name]Elizabeth[/name]. I think it’s a great name. Filler, but great

Eww my mn is [name]Tracy[/name]. Am I allowed to say I hate it ;). No meaning behind it, my mum says she “just came up with it” and she thought it was sweet. Would have loved just to have had a family name as then it would have some meaning. My husband would much prefer our kids to have no mn as he thinks they are “pointless” but I will always choose family names for middles names for our children.

It’s very interesting to read! Anyone else?
