[name]Ethan[/name] - nms, but it’s a perfectly fine name. very popular, though.
[name]Julia[/name] - very pretty…esp. nice as a middle name. as a first name, i prefer julianna or juliet.
[name]Emily[/name] - soooo common and not exciting or interesting.
[name]Kaitlyn[/name] - way too common and this spelling is so trendy. not a fan.
[name]Isabella[/name] - gorgeous, but SO popular, unfortunately.
[name]Leah[/name] - very nice and not too common.
[name]Claire[/name] - overused, i feel. i love clara.
[name]Jacob[/name] - most popular boy’s name. avoid if possible! better as a middle name.
[name]Timothy[/name] - nice! and not too popular these days.
[name]Colby[/name] - i just think of the cheese.
[name]Cody[/name] - don’t like it. too cowboy-ish for me.
[name]Sarah[/name] - classic but plain.
[name]Ashley[/name] - love it for a boy! (but wouldn’t use it) not into it at all for a girl. very common.
[name]Ethan[/name]- Popular all over US with pockets of extreme popularity…not a fave based on sound either
[name]Julia[/name]-[name]Lovely[/name] name at any age- a top 100 name that doesn’t seem so unless you have a 10 y.o. [name]New[/name] Englander
[name]Emily[/name]- [name]Way[/name], way, way too popular. Sweet sound
[name]Kaitlyn[/name]- [name]Just[/name] too many of them and too many sp variations. I would only favor [name]Caitlin[/name], and then as a family mn
[name]Isabella[/name]- Also a number one name, but somehow retains a pretty sound
[name]Leah[/name] - I like the simplicity and how long this name has been around. Like [name]Julia[/name], it is actually well-used but doesn’t seem so.
[name]Claire[/name]- My mn and I always get compliments from both genders. Too much of a filler mn for this generation. Makes a great combo with 3-syllable mn
[name]Jacob[/name]- [name]Jake[/name] is fun. Too many Jacobs worldwide.
[name]Timothy[/name]- I like it, don’t love it. Good mn
[name]Colby[/name]- I like the sound of it. Not terribly fresh right now.
[name]Cody[/name]- This isn’t much of a grown man’s name [name]IMO[/name]- but I like its energy. Had a burst of usage 10-15 years ago that makes it sound slightly dated.
[name]Sarah[/name]- [name]Just[/name] too many of them, but is borderline true classic.
[name]Ashley[/name] - Not a fave.
[name]Ethan[/name]–I love this name, but it’s extremely popular. We have one on our small street.
[name]Julia[/name]–Elegant, refined, easily written and spelled. [name]One[/name] of my favorites. Not terribly common where I am.
[name]Emily[/name]–I loved this name for years (had a doll named [name]Emily[/name]). But it’s mega-popularity is something to consider.
[name]Kaitlyn[/name]–Too many spellings have really watered it down. Somehow it sounds 80s to me.
[name]Isabella[/name]–Pretty, but uber-popular. Too frilly for my taste.
[name]Leah[/name]–I have never liked this one and I am not sure why.
[name]Claire[/name]–[name]Love[/name] this one. We were going to use it if we had another girl.
[name]Jacob[/name]–probably my least favorite name on the list. For years it seemed as if every baby announcement had the name [name]Jacob[/name] or [name]Joshua[/name] on it. I do like the nickname [name]Jake[/name] though.
[name]Timothy[/name]–All of the Timothys I know go by [name]Tim[/name]. I always think of nicknames as something for children, but in this case I think the full name sounds more juvenile.
[name]Colby[/name]–trendy
[name]Cody[/name]–[name]Kathie[/name] [name]Lee[/name] [name]Gifford[/name]
[name]Sarah[/name]–I honestly think this name is never really in or out, which is a nice place for a name to be. An absolute classic.
[name]Ashley[/name]–I remember the explosive growth of [name]Ashley[/name]. I like the sound, but it takes me right back to the early 80s.
[name]Ethan[/name] - [name]Love[/name]. I would really consider using [name]Ethan[/name].
[name]Julia[/name] - Like. Beautiful and effortlessly classy.
[name]Emily[/name] - Like. Wonderfully classic, but a little overused in recent years.
[name]Kaitlyn[/name] - Dislike. [name]Katelyn[/name] is the only spelling I like, but I don’t really even like [name]Katelyn[/name].
[name]Isabella[/name] - Like. I prefer [name]Isabel[/name].
[name]Leah[/name] - [name]Love[/name]. I would use [name]Leah[/name] in a heartbeat, but can’t because it belongs to a very close friend.
[name]Claire[/name] - Like. Classic, but a little boring.
[name]Jacob[/name] - Like. Handsome, wonderful Old Testament feel, strong, but overused.
[name]Timothy[/name] - Dislike. Reminds me of a [name]Timothy[/name] I once knew, who did nothing for the name but make me dislike it.
[name]Colby[/name] - Like, kind of a lot. I have known two males named [name]Colby[/name], and I quite like it.
[name]Cody[/name] - Dislike, quite a lot. QUITE a lot. It feels… less than classy.
[name]Sarah[/name] - Kind of like, but kind of boring.
[name]Ashley[/name] - I much prefer [name]Ainsley[/name].
