This name is really growing on me, and I’m curious what others think about it.
The name of [name]Amelia[/name] Pond’s daughter in Dr Who. It’s different. I am not sure I’d use it, but I think it’s a fun and curious sounding name and I can see it on an adult woman as well as a young girl. Plus the nickname [name]Mel[/name] is good too.
[name]River[/name] definitely made me appreciate the name a little more. I just fear that the reference may be too overt.
Oh I just wrote a little blurb about it on my new name blog.
I’m considering [name]Melody[/name] for myself, and I really like it.
My blog blurb:
"[name]Melody[/name] Combos and Why I Like It.
I’ve been a fan of the name [name]Melody[/name] since I heard it in The [name]Little[/name] Mermaid II.
[name]Ariel[/name] was always my favourite Disney [name]Princess[/name], and the storyline of [name]Melody[/name] was what I’d always wanted for myself.
A human girl who’s half merfolk, but doesn’t know it? And she’s a [name]Princess[/name] in both worlds? That’s just amazing and wonderful.
I’m also a huge fan of [name]Music[/name]. While my musical tastes are far from cultured, I love music. I find it so incredible how it can make you think, make you happy. Make memories, bring back old ones.
I also love how it connects so many people. I’m big on connecting with people, and music is the most effective way to do that.
I’m always singing around the house, and while I wasn’t blessed with a gorgeous singing voice like [name]Ariel[/name], or [name]Melody[/name], if I could I’d love nothing more than to be a singer.

[name]Elle[/name] could be a great, and unsuspecting, but fitting nickname for the name [name]Melody[/name].
[name]Elodie[/name] is a shorter version that might be liked as well, this means “marsh flower” in French from Greek.

Some middle name combos could be:
[name]Melody[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Melody[/name] [name]Noelle[/name]
[name]Melody[/name] [name]Chloe[/name]
[name]Melody[/name] [name]Grace[/name]
Double Middles:
[name]Melody[/name] [name]April[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Melody[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Noelle[/name]
[name]Melody[/name] [name]Ava[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Melody[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Grace[/name]"
Maybe, but I am not sure Dr Who is that popular for most people to pick up on the reference.
[name]Melody[/name] is great! It was on my list but the fiance is against it for some stupid reason.
For me, [name]Melody[/name] is lovely name…
[name]Melody[/name] is a lovely name, has a really pretty sound and I don’t think everyone would immediately jump to the [name]Doctor[/name] Who connection. In just the same way as you wouldn’t in previous years with the name [name]Rose[/name].
I also really like [name]Elodie[/name] too
my name is [name]Melody[/name] and I have always loved my name. I feel like it is uncommon, but not crazy. My family calls me [name]Mel[/name]. [name]Elizabeth[/name] is a family name, so my f&m name is [name]Melody[/name] [name]Beth[/name].
I used to dislike it, however the Dr. Who association kinda redeemed it for me. So yes, my mind immediately went to [name]Melody[/name] Pond.
It’s lovely name.
When I first heard the name I wasn’t a fan but it has really grown in me and now I LOVE it!
