This name has really been growing on me lately, and I’m just wondering what kind of impression it gives everyone.
For a boy, or a girl?
[name]EDIT[/name]: [name]Just[/name] realised you posted this in boy’s names. He he. I really like [name]Rory[/name] on a boy. It sounds a bit like ‘roar’, but I think that’s part of it’s charm. I like [name]Rory[/name] on a girl, too, but only as a nn for [name]Aurora[/name].
I really like it, though the [name]Ruairidh[/name]/Ruairí spellings appeal to me more. Depending on where you live, [name]Rory[/name] might be a better option pn wise
I like [name]Rory[/name] - it’s on my friends list currently. It is short and sweet and but still masculine sounding. Although saying that I do like [name]Rory[/name] as a nickname on a girl for the name [name]Aurora[/name].
I like it in writing, but “[name]Rory[/name]” has never once come out of my mouth correctly. I can’t say it.
I’m so glad to see that you like it for a boy! It is boyish/masculine, very Irish. It’s really great - for a boy!! (I have a pet peeve with a lot of boys names on girls)
I love [name]Rory[/name] on a boy! It sounds mischievous and handsome all at once. i really hate to see it going as a girls name/nn recently, but I guess I can see the appeal.
I don’t mind it, but sadly I’m with agirlinred - I can never say it right either!
I love it on a boy, much more so than on a girl. I used to have [name]Rory[/name] and [name]Toby[/name] as my ‘twin boys’ names on my list when I was a teenager, and I still like it, though it does seem a bit nicknamey, which I guess is where it’s become popular on girls from. It sounds soft but still masculine.
I love the name [name]Rory[/name] but I was a huge [name]Gilmore[/name] Girls fan growing up and one of the main characters was the teenage daughter [name]Rory[/name] so to me it will always remind me of her character…
I love [name]Rory[/name] on a boy and a girl (nn for [name]Aurora[/name])!
I love it, and it’s on my “short list” of contenders for a future DS.
I love it…I have always liked it more for a girl…I don’t think it is hard to say at all and I think the welsh spelling is too hard…I like it spelled this way
I love [name]Rory[/name] for a boy.
[name]Love[/name] [name]Rory[/name]! I wrote a story about a [name]Rory[/name] once (well, [name]Gregory[/name] nn [name]Rory[/name]), and he completely fits what I imagine a [name]Rory[/name] to be–lion-hearted, brave, tenderhearted, sweet, gentlemanly, with a charmer grin to boot. You’d never meet anyone more chivalrous, down-to-earth, compassionate, or brave than a [name]Rory[/name]. That’s the image I get, anyway! I would love to meet a little boy with the name.
I love [name]Rory[/name]. It would be on my list if I could sell it to my husband!
I very much like it on a boy.
Completely agree on all counts! Great name, for a boy.
I grew up with a guy named [name]Rory[/name] but for some reason the name is all girl to me now
I hate to say it but my husband and i have a joke about the name rory. i can’t say it…it sounds bizarre when it comes out of my mouth…haha. it’s so pretty written out and i thought it was so cute in [name]Gilmore[/name] Girls, i just can’t say it properly.
