Hey everyone! I know I’ve been posting a lot - sorry! [name_m]Just[/name_m] super excited about deciding on [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] for our little girl and now trying to decide on the perfect middle name.
We [name_f]MAY[/name_f] have narrowed things down, but would love to know what comes to mind when you hear these names.
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] definitely sounds like a Southern [name_f]Belle[/name_f]. That’s not necessarily a bad thing! But I definitely picture a well-off blonde haired, blue eyed girl sipping on sweet tea haha.
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is gorgeous and was my vote in the last post. I can see a sweet and curious 2 year old [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and an elegant and professional 30 year old [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f].
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] is more spunky. I think of a beautiful and genuine person, but with some quirk thrown in.
[name_f]Glad[/name_f] to see [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] after your previous thread.
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is outgoing, full of charm and tact. She is a master of friendship and personal relationships. She is smart and does well in school, but doesn’t have a bookish bone in her body as she’d rather be social than scholastic for the sake of learning or academia.
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is cheerful but multi-layered and multi-faceted. She is strong, active, and athletic, but feminine. She is competitive, but not narcissistic or vain. She is more quiet than [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and likes doing things with her hands, like crafts and art. She is imaginative and thrives by augmenting the creativity of her siblings and parents and later friends to make fun for all.
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] is an extrovert among friends, but more reserved in general. She is astute and quick-witted, never missing a beat. She is precocious yet humble, excelling academically and professionally. Less creative than [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] (but moreso than [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]), she is nevertheless a problem solver and enjoys coming up with inventive solutions to problems. She is also more musical than the others.
All three are great choices! I think [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] gets my vote. I love [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] as well
First off, love your thoughtful descriptions on what kind of little gal you picture!
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] - So sweet. It’s so hard for me to imagine our daughter with blonde hair, but being that my husband is a red head, it could definitely happen!
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] - I think you description here is what I hope for most in a daughter and her name!
Yes, I’ve added [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] to the mix because I just [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the way it looks and sounds! Not sure how DH feels about it, but he needs to work on having an open mind on some of these names I love!
You descriptions are so thought out and beautiful! I truly love all three of these little girls and their traits that you’ve imagined up. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] probably being the one I identify with most. Except for the athletic and competitive aspect.
A vote for [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]. Very nice. Since [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is a little on the cuter side (not a terrible thing, of course), I think something more serious in the middle will work well (especially if she wants to use the middle name as she gets older–but more broadly, I think helps balance the name). [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is certainly mature as well/would age well, but to me, it’s a bit trendy right now so sort of undercuts its impact. Finally, to me (citing central “issue”), [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] is a little too sweet for [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. But just my opinion, of course!
