What could “Cate” be short for?

What could “[name_f]Cate[/name_f]” be short for, other than the obvious [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]?

I know several Cathleens who go by [name_f]Cate[/name_f].

[name_f]Catalina[/name_f] maybe?

[name_f]Catrina[/name_f]
[name_f]Caitlin[/name_f]

[name_f]Caterina[/name_f] is another option related to [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]. I can’t really think of anything that doesn’t relate back to that name unless it’s something like Cataluna / Catalonia.

[name_f]Acacia[/name_f]
[name_f]Cathy[/name_f]
[name_u]Cato[/name_u]
[name_f]Caitria[/name_f]
[name_f]Caitriona[/name_f]
[name_f]Hecate[/name_f]
[name_f]Toccata[/name_f]
Kata
Kattia

I think you could use it for anything containing [name_f]Cat[/name_f] or [name_f]Cait[/name_f] or even [name_f]Kat[/name_f] or [name_f]Kait[/name_f] but most are just variants of same name

[name_f]Caitriona[/name_f] or [name_f]Catriona[/name_f]
[name_f]Kitty[/name_f]
[name_f]Katya[/name_f]
Kathmandu? :_

[name_f]Cateline[/name_f] (cat-e-leen)! Medieval form of [name_f]Catherine[/name_f].

[name_f]Catalina[/name_f]
[name_f]Caterina[/name_f]
[name_f]Katrin[/name_f]
[name_f]Caitlin[/name_f]
[name_f]Catriona[/name_f]
[name_f]Kathleen[/name_f]
[name_f]Katya[/name_f]
[name_f]Christina[/name_f]
[name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f]

Some of these might be a bit of a stretch, but I think they could work:

[name_f]Kateri[/name_f]
[name_f]Cantara[/name_f]
[name_f]Cantata[/name_f]
[name_f]Caritas[/name_f]
[name_f]Calista[/name_f], [name_f]Callista[/name_f], [name_f]Callixta[/name_f], [name_f]Callisto[/name_f]
[name_f]Calytrix[/name_f]
[name_f]Calamity[/name_f]
[name_f]Constantina[/name_f], [name_f]Constance[/name_f]
[name_f]Kitana[/name_f]

The only thing I can think of is [name_f]Catelyn[/name_f].
