What did you almost name your baby and what name did you use instead?
My mum almost called me [name]Megan[/name] but instead went with [name]Michaela[/name]
Almost named him [name]Silas[/name] but loved the named [name]Iris[/name] even more for a future little girl. I couldn’t use both since they rhyme so we named him [name]Weston[/name] [name]Silas[/name] in the end. [name]Hope[/name] we get our little [name]Iris[/name] one day!
I don’t have a baby yet.
My name was almost [name]Jennifer[/name], but they went with [name]Jacquelyn[/name].
My sister was almost [name]Caitlin[/name], but they went with [name]Victoria[/name].
[name]Lucia[/name] was almost an [name]Alexandra[/name]… I love “[name]Andie[/name]” but she definitely isn’t one! Boy did we make the right call!!
my name is [name]Danielle[/name], but it was almost [name]Celine[/name]
I was so almost [name]Phoebe[/name] (which I like), but then the Neighbours character, a young teen, got pregnant, and so my siblings persuaded my parents against it.
[name]Gwendolyn[/name] was almost [name]Chloe[/name]. I still like [name]Chloe[/name] but am glad we went with [name]Gwen[/name]!
I was almost named [name]Giulia[/name] or [name]Eve[/name] but my mom ended up choosing [name]Marissa[/name].
Before getting married, I had picked out the name [name]Rebecca[/name] [name]Jane[/name] for a future daughter. However, while pregnant with my daughter, I fell in love with the beautiful and feminine name [name]Marissa[/name]. [name]Marissa[/name] [name]Jane[/name] would honor my mother [name]Mary[/name] [name]Jane[/name] (and perpetuate 5 generations of “[name]Mar[/name]” names in my direct maternal line, with M names going back even farther). However, we went with my original choice, [name]Rebecca[/name] [name]Jane[/name], instead. On the way home from the hospital, I was suddenly struck with the feeling that I’d made a big mistake in passing up [name]Marissa[/name]. I wanted to ask my husband to make a U-turn and go back to the hospital so we could change the name, but I did not. I eventually came to be very glad with the choice we made and would not change it. For one thing, our last name has a prominent short i sound, and [name]Rebecca[/name] flows better with it. Also, the name [name]Rebecca[/name] goes best with her brothers’ names. Last, but not least, my daughter really loves her name and feels it fits her perfectly!
For a few months [name]Caitlin[/name] was going to be [name]Natalie[/name] because I got so fed up with DH I said “FINE, YOU $#%@ING PICK IT THEN!!!”. We changed it near the end when [name]MIL[/name] suggested [name]Katelyn[/name] (ew) and DH said he liked it…The first (of about 20) list I wrote had [name]Caitlin[/name] second on the page and he crossed it out >.<!! …men…
I almost named my son [name]Julius[/name], until my intoxicated aunt who was “sworn to secrecy” blabbed the name out to family members. I wasn’t there when it happened, but my mother was! She was absolutely livid and so was I when I got wind of it! At the time I was pregnant, my cousin was also pregnant…both of us with boys! I didn’t want my name stolen. I ended up naming him [name]Quentin[/name], which was a name I loved as a child.
My twins [name]Jane[/name] and [name]Leo[/name] were almost [name]Alice[/name] and [name]Morgan[/name].
[name]Morgan[/name] is a family name and we both loved it for a boy, but I also love [name]Leo[/name]. We had a hard time deciding between [name]Alice[/name] and [name]Jane[/name], but I figured we could use [name]Alice[/name] later on.
I was almost a [name]Stacy[/name], but I love my name [name]Stephanie[/name].
My sister [name]Rachel[/name] was almost an [name]Erica[/name].
My brother [name]Andrew[/name] was almost a [name]Matthew[/name].
My auntie named me [name]Jacey[/name], I was almost a [name]Charlotte[/name].
My eldest daughter ([name]Anna[/name] nn [name]Annie[/name]) was almost [name]Natalia[/name]. I wanted something exotic, but her father didn’t. I’m glad he won out, because she has green eyes and blonde hair, and looks NOTHING like a [name]Natalia[/name].
My daughter [name]Olivia[/name] was almost [name]Mia[/name]. Her twin sister is [name]Ava[/name] and my husband liked the combo of [name]Ava[/name] and [name]Mia[/name]. We were about to put [name]Mia[/name] on the birth certificate, but I had had [name]Olivia[/name] in the back of my mind, and suggested it. My husband agreed that she wasn’t a [name]Mia[/name] and [name]Olivia[/name] she became!
My youngest son [name]Ethan[/name] was almost [name]Gavin[/name]. The two were basically tied during the whole pregnancy, but about 2 days before I gave birth - we decided on [name]Ethan[/name]. He really looks like an [name]Ethan[/name], too.
My daughter [name]Jessica[/name] (nn [name]Jessie[/name]) is the only one whose name doesn’t really fit her. She has even told me that she wishes her name was more exotic. She has dark hair and dark eyes, with my husband’s darker, almost olive, skin tone. I sort of wish we named her [name]Natalia[/name]. Oh well, she’s still [name]Jessie[/name].
God bless.
[name]Chrysta[/name]
I was [name]Giulia[/name] throughout my mom’s pregnancy. My sister [name]Megan[/name] was almost a Cyrelle. And my brother [name]Wade[/name] was [name]Wesley[/name] until a couple minutes after he was born.
My name was almost [name]Erin[/name] and now it’s [name]Freya[/name]. I really prefer [name]Freya[/name]! If I was a boy I was going to be [name]Liam[/name].
I picked out the name [name]Isla[/name] five years ago before [name]Isla[/name] [name]Fischer[/name] was super popular and wanted to use it for our future baby girl. We ended up having a boy and I am SOOO glad we didn’t use [name]Isla[/name] now because of its new, fantastic popularity. So, if one of our future children ends up being a girl, we will probably choose something else even though I think [name]Isla[/name] [name]Irene[/name] (my grandma’s name) is soooo gorgeous.
I was almost named [name]Keegan[/name], but my parents settled on [name]Bridget[/name]. [name]Both[/name] are family names, but my mom was worried about [name]Keegan[/name] being too unisex for a girl. I love both and I’m considering [name]Keegan[/name] for either a son or daughter in my future!
