What do think of the name Winifred?

Also what middle names would go well. I was thinking [name]Winifred[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] or [name]Winnifred[/name] [name]Susan[/name].

I think [name]Winifred[/name] is pretty cool name. First, it is a recognizable name in addition to being an underused classic. It provides routes to the ultra sweet “[name]Winnie[/name]” as well as tomboy “[name]Freddie[/name]”. Plus, it has some sweet credits under it’s belt – [name]Tuck[/name] Everlasting, Hocus Pocus, Once Upon a Mattress (a highlight song – “Girl Named [name]Fred[/name]”), The Forsyte [name]Saga[/name], and the girl from The Wonder Years ([name]Winnie[/name]) come to mind.

Overall really positive associations, nicknames, etc — a solid choice!

Of your two middles, I like [name]Winifred[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] better. (I don’t really care for [name]Susan[/name], but there’s nothing wrong with it. My relatives would jump at the chance to call a [name]Winifred[/name] [name]Susan[/name], “[name]Winnie[/name] [name]Sue[/name]” / “[name]Winnie[/name] the [name]Sue[/name]”, like [name]Winnie[/name] the Pooh, - and I would hate that).

I quite like [name]Winifred[/name] and [name]Win[/name] or [name]Wynn[/name] would be a fun nn.

[name]Winifred[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] is pretty. I think that lots of classic mn options would go well with [name]Winifred[/name].

[name]Winifred[/name] [name]Alice[/name]
[name]Winifred[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Winifred[/name] [name]Victoria[/name]
[name]Winifred[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Winifred[/name] [name]Eve[/name]
[name]Winifred[/name] [name]Anna[/name]

I have always found [name]Winifred[/name] to be a name that is truly pretentious sounding. I honestly couldn’t tell you why. It’s not my cup of tea, but it IS underused, which adds to its appeal in my book. Also, the nn [name]Winnie[/name] is super cute. All in all, I feel it’s a pretty good name, and [name]Winifred[/name] [name]Susan[/name] is very cute! I would actually [name]LOVE[/name] to meet a little [name]Winifred[/name]/[name]Winnie[/name] instead of another little [name]Ava[/name] or [name]Isabella[/name].

I love [name]Winifred[/name]. I think it’s super cute. I like the nicknames [name]Winnie[/name] and [name]Wynn[/name].

I love her, but mainly for the nickname [name]Winnie[/name].

I think there’s something really sweet about [name]Winifred[/name]. It does have a wee bit of pretention about it- like @tintri said, but I think the nicknames [name]Winnie[/name] and [name]Freddie[/name] bring it back to earth. I love it! Out of your options, I think [name]Winifred[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] is nice, but maybe something spunkier would go better with [name]Winifred[/name].
[name]Hope[/name] that helps!

[name]Winifred[/name] [name]Elise[/name]
[name]Winifred[/name] [name]Rosie[/name]
[name]Winifred[/name] [name]Lilou[/name]
[name]Winifred[/name] [name]Cate[/name]
[name]Winifred[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] (I prefer this over [name]Susan[/name])

I love [name]Winifred[/name] and considered it myself, though I wonder if it might be a bit dowdy unless paired up with a spunkier middle. [name]Winifred[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] is lovely but very plain and quiet.

I think [name]Winifred[/name] is beautiful! Charming, classy and a little bit quirky vintage. I love the nickname [name]Winnie[/name], too - how sweet. I like [name]Winifred[/name] [name]Susan[/name], too.

I like the nn [name]Winnie[/name] A LOT, but I find the “[name]Fred[/name]” part very unattractive and dated.

[name]Fred[/name] reminds me of the [name]Fred[/name] (also a [name]Winifred[/name]) from the series [name]Angel[/name]. She was a great character, but I hated her nickname, I wished they called her [name]Winnie[/name], it would have fit her better, [name]IMO[/name].

I like it although I would pair it with a spunky (if that is the right word) mn.

[name]Winifred[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Winifred[/name] [name]Kate[/name]
[name]Winifred[/name] [name]Callista[/name]
[name]Winifred[/name] [name]Juniper[/name]
[name]Winifred[/name] [name]Joy[/name]

I would dearly love to like it-- [name]Winifred[/name] is my name-day saint-- but find it too heavy. In a day where most little girls get ultra-liquid names like [name]Lily[/name] and [name]Aaliyah[/name], poor [name]Winifred[/name] would have it rough going.
