The name [name_m]Oswald[/name_m]?
[name_u]Lee[/name_u] [name_m]Harvey[/name_m] [name_m]Oswald[/name_m] is the first and only thing I think about. However without that connection [name_m]Oswald[/name_m] sounds nice.
I think it sounds vintage, but to my knowledge it hasn’t become that popular. I think the nickname [name_m]Oz[/name_m] is cute, like [name_u]Seth[/name_u] [name_u]Green[/name_u] in [name_f]Buffy[/name_f].
I love the name. It is a totally on trend vintage O name such as [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], [name_u]Owen[/name_u] and [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] but not nearly as popular. However, I believe the reason it isn’t so popular is because of [name_u]Lee[/name_u] [name_m]Harvey[/name_m] [name_m]Oswald[/name_m] and the English Fascist [name_m]Oswald[/name_m] [name_f]Mosley[/name_f]. Unfortunate as it is such a gorgeous name. I would probably used it anyway if my surname wasn’t the same as a certain assassinated president!
[name_m]Oswald[/name_m] makes me think of the kids show [name_m]Oswald[/name_m], who is a blue octopus with a hot dog as a pet named “weenie”. lol. Its not the worst show ever! I do like the nickname oz or [name_m]Ozzie[/name_m] and feel like [name_m]Oswald[/name_m] has a vibe that the child has a lot to live up to!
My first thought is of that blue octopus from that kids television show
I really like [name_m]Oswald[/name_m], but I like [name_m]Oswaldo[/name_m] even more. It’s handsome and I agree with others that it sounds vintage. There are also numerous fun nicknames for it, such as [name_m]Oz[/name_m], [name_m]Ozzy[/name_m], [name_m]Waldo[/name_m], etc.
I like [name_m]Osgood[/name_m] better.
I like [name_m]Oswald[/name_m] and I think of the rabbit that came before [name_u]Mickey[/name_u] Mouse from [name_m]Walt[/name_m] Disney. I agree that [name_m]Oswaldo[/name_m] is more handsome and I teach an [name_m]Osvaldo[/name_m]. The name [name_m]Oswin[/name_m] is on my own list.
I think of the actor Diedrich [name_m]Bader[/name_m] - I’m sure he played a character named [name_m]Oswald[/name_m] at one point.
My first thought is (the awesome) [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_m]Oswald[/name_m] from [name_m]Doctor[/name_m] Who :). Can’t quite decide if I like it or not though.
I love it! I’ve been trying to fit it in as a middle name because I think it’s percieved as too “old fashioned” right now, but when it’s ready, hopefully while I’m having kids, I’ll probably use it as a first. I think it’s because it’s a family name that I’m partial to it. I also love the other spelling, Aswald. But I love really old names in general. I’m an ancient history geek.
